Como saben, sigo compartiendo los momentos más especiales del Festival "Albertista de Oro" desde nuestro querido Liceo Alberto Smith. Ya les he contado sobre los preparativos y los primeros talentos, pero hoy la entrega es diferente. Esta vez, el escenario se llenó de un sentimiento que a todos los villacuranos presente nos tocó el alma de ver como nuestra música llanera está bien representada.

As you know, I continue sharing the most special moments of the "Albertista de Oro" Festival from our beloved Alberto Smith High School. I have already told you about the preparations and the first talents, but today's installment is different. This time, the stage was filled with a feeling that touched the soul of every Villacuran present as we saw how our "llanera" music is so well represented.

En esta cuarta entrega, fuimos testigos de una presentación muy especial. El participante eligió interpretar la emblemática canción "Apure en un viaje", una obra maestra escrita y compuesta por el maestro Genaro Prieto, y que alcanzó la fama en la voz del gran Francisco Montoya, "El Tigre de Payara".

In this fourth installment, we witnessed a very special performance. The participant chose to interpret the iconic song "Apure en un viaje," a masterpiece written and composed by the maestro Genaro Prieto, which reached fame through the voice of the great Francisco Montoya, "El Tigre de Payara."

Fue increíble ver cómo el joven lograba transmitir ese sentir. "Apure en un viaje" no es solo una canción, es un poema que nos transporta directo a la sabana, hablándonos de nuestros llanos venezolanos, de los pueblos, del trabajo del campo y de la profunda sencillez de nuestra gente. Escucharla en tarima fue como sentir el viento del llano recorriendo el Liceo; un tema que habla de las costumbres, de los caminos y de la identidad que nos une como país.

It was incredible to see how the young performer managed to transmit that feeling. "Apure en un viaje" is not just a song; it is a poem that transports us straight to the savanna, speaking to us of our Venezuelan plains, our towns, the work in the fields, and the profound simplicity of our people. Listening to it on stage was like feeling the wind of the plains running through the High School; a theme that speaks of customs, paths, and the identity that unites us as a country.

Sinceramente, estar ahí, con el teléfono en la mano, grabando ese momento, me hizo reflexionar. Cuando un joven canta sobre el llano, está cantando sobre sus abuelos, sobre su historia y sobre el orgullo de pertenecer a esta tierra. Ver a los músicos preparando sus instrumentos y a los padres apoyando con tanto amor, te hace sentir que, mientras tengamos voces jóvenes que defiendan nuestras costumbres, seguirán vivas.

Honestly, being there, with my phone in hand, recording that moment, made me reflect. When a young person sings about the plains, they are singing about their grandparents, their history, and the pride of belonging to this land. Seeing the musicians preparing their instruments and the parents supporting with so much love makes you feel that as long as we have young voices defending our customs, they will remain alive.

Más allá de la competencia, lo que se respiraba en el aire era identidad. Esa chispa en los ojos de los participantes al cantar sobre su pueblo es lo que realmente le da valor al "Albertista de Oro". Es un recordatorio de que, aunque pasen los años, el campo y su gente siempre serán el corazón de nuestra cultura.

Beyond the competition, what was in the air was identity. That spark in the participants' eyes as they sang about their town is what really gives value to the "Albertista de Oro." It is a reminder that, even as years go by, the countryside and its people will always be the heart of our culture.

Me siento muy orgulloso de poder traerles este pedacito de nuestra esencia a través de mis videos. Gracias a todos los que valoran este humilde trabajo, a los que se detienen a ver este material y a quienes comparten este orgullo por ser de Villa de Cura. Sin ustedes, esto no tendría el mismo sentido. Y especialmente agradecer de antemano a la comunidad VDC por apoyar las costumbres de nuestro pueblo.

I feel very proud to be able to bring you this little piece of our essence through my videos. Thank you to everyone who values this humble work, to those who stop to watch this material, and to those who share this pride in being from Villa de Cura. Without you, this wouldn't have the same meaning. And I especially want to thank the VDC community in advance for supporting our town's customs.
