Hello Afri-tunes family, it's week 50 of our weekly contest and for me it's always a privilege to share music with you guys here. The support and love is always massive, that I don't take for granted. For this week I'd be performing the secular song as suggested in the community for week #50 which is People (Check On Me) by Cameroonian-American singer Libianca.

The song talks about depression and how people think you're doing just fine, just because you wear a smile on your face, dress well and look good...but that doesn't mean you're really doing good. People don't see beyond the smile, all they see is the outward appearance, they don't know what you're going through and just assume you're doing just fine without actually asking if you're alright. This song is really relatable in our daily lives, everyone is going through stuff they don't talk about but then, we all have like an escape to get our minds off things. For Libianca it's alcohol, she's been drinking alcohol for the past five days and nobody even cared to check on her or look for her. Even doing things she doesn't do normally but nobody notices because they believe she can't do such instead of paying attention to the little details.

People don't really know you but they think they do. All they see is what they believe is going on in your life. No one notices your absence or even bothers to check on you...and for some reasons those are the people we call friends. But really it's not about the quantity but the quality of people in our lives that matter. Those who really care would check on you and notice you but in the absence of that, keep going, keep trying. Don't let what you're going through get you in into depression, protect your mental health because at the end of the day You're all you've got. People don't really know you, they just believe that when you put a smile on your face, look good...then you have no problems.

I do hope you enjoy 🎧 my cover of this beautiful song, let me know what you think of my cover in the comment section..Blessings always 🙏

Bendiciones siempre 🙏

very true bro.. depression is real and that's why a lot of people are commiting suicide this days. I read a story of a celebraty who has all the money and faim but still went and committed suicide because his inner spirit is not at peace with his physical self. Now people will look at the outside and will always judge base on what they can only see but the truth is that the key to our happiness lies in our hands and we shouldn't give the devil a chance to the extend he'll lead us to take our own life with our hands. We can be source of help to those that are in need too, people are dieing silently also, we can be the remedy to other people's problems and that is the more reason we need to show love and care to everyone around us. The world needs love and care much more than it does before. I like the message behind your presentation man, you sang and played beautifully @sleemfit

One thing I know and can tell about depression is that it is a silent killer. People tend not to show it on how they look, they'd even answer "I'm fine" when you ask "how are you" , but wrethey really fine?. Alot is happening but we cover it all up with our good looks because that's what the world wants to see, nobody cares about the book, they only judge it by it's cover. Thanks for letting us know that we always need to check up on people.

Your voice is really captivating and your guitar is an accomplice of the good deeds that your voice does 😁. I really enjoyed seeing you sing. You rock friend ✌️👍🤗

The guy with the sexy voice for toasting fine gals, weldone boss.

I relate very well with your interpretation bro. It is true that in life it is not the quantity but the quality of your relationship that matters. I think this one affects me personally and I have learnt something new.

A lot of people really pass through serious issues in their life but for some reasons may wear a happy face meanwhile deep down are miseries overload. People may not know what they pass through and may even tease them to be living a balanced life. It is quite a pity and ironic.
But I ask, can we really blame those who didn't see the depression in another's face since that other is camouflaging himself to be happy? I no kuku know na y I ask, hehe.

But sha I think the message is that we should be more caring to people we relate with as friends and families to know them and help them in their needs according to our capacity.

Guy ur voice is still a top notch among the voice of guys in this community. E b like after ur own na @sholex94 own I never hear @ksam own make I for know. Keep it coming bro. You too much

I saw something today about blocking, unfollowing and just letting people go when they don't help your mental health. I realized how true that is and how easy it is also, to fall in that category of people. While we're important, we should also realize that the world doesn't revolve around us. And the people who love and care for us also deserve to be loved even if they don't share their problems.

Pepper us jare🥰, we're your jellof 🤲🏾😂.
