Hello everyone, welcome to Afri-tunes week #61. I trust we all are doing good 😊, For this week I'd be performing a song by Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer Omah Lay called "Understand". Understand was released in July 2021 and is still a banging record till date, a club hit as well because of the catchy lyrics and the rhythm of the song. I have chosen this song because it's one I love to sing and also because I'm a fan of Omah Lay 😉, He has a way of killing every beat he jumps on, His sound is so unique and he really delivers good melodies to his songs.

The song addresses a love interest who has taken all your care, affection and attention for granted. You feel betrayed by their actions towards you because you've done virtually everything for them, even made sacrifices for them but yet they don't appreciate all you've done. You walked in the rain cause you gave your umbrella to them, some part of this song says

"I thought we in this together
Give you my necklace pendant
Give you my last card you spend am
I show you my best friend you friend am"

After doing all this, they still cheat on you with your best friend 😭. This is so unbelievable! 😲 So you don't understand 😔. You did all you could for them, love them but what you get in return is disloyalty 💔. I'm sure a few of us can relate to this,so sad. Regardless of the message of the song, Understand is a jam for days due to the beat of the song and the catchy hook which is repeated almost throughout the song. Hola a todos, bienvenidos a la semana #61 de Afri-tunes. Confío en que todos estemos bien 😊. Esta semana interpretaría una canción del cantautor y productor discográfico nigeriano Omah Lay llamada "Understand". Understand se lanzó en julio de 2021 y sigue siendo un disco impactante hasta la fecha, un éxito de club también debido a la letra pegadiza y el ritmo de la canción. Elegí esta canción porque es una que me encanta cantar y también porque soy fan de Omah Lay 😉, tiene una manera de matar cada ritmo que salta, su sonido es tan único y realmente entrega buenas melodías a su canciones

La canción se dirige a un interés amoroso que ha dado por sentado todo tu cuidado, afecto y atención. Te sientes traicionado por sus acciones hacia ti porque prácticamente has hecho todo por ellos, incluso has hecho sacrificios por ellos, pero aún así no aprecian todo lo que has hecho. Caminaste bajo la lluvia porque les diste tu paraguas, una parte de esta canción dice

"Pensé que estábamos juntos en esto
Darte mi colgante de collar
Te doy mi última tarjeta que gastas am
Te muestro mi mejor amigo tu amigo soy"

Después de hacer todo esto, todavía te engañan con tu mejor amigo 😭. ¡Esto es tan increíble! 😲 Para que no entiendas 😔. Hiciste todo lo que pudiste por ellos, los amas pero lo que obtienes a cambio es deslealtad 💔. Estoy seguro de que algunos de nosotros podemos relacionarnos con esto, muy triste. Independientemente del mensaje de la canción, Understand es un atasco durante días debido al ritmo de la canción y el gancho pegadizo que se repite casi a lo largo de la canción. ¡Espero que todos disfruten 🎧 mi versión de este atasco!
