Three Tune Tuesday - Shoegaze

avatar

Here are a few shoegaze songs for this #threetunetuesday by @ablaze

This first band is called Whirr. They have the key shoegaze sound where vocals are subdued and there is a wall of sound created by the guitars. They might have accidentally spilled a bunch of zoloft into their coffee the day they recorded the song lol.

This next band is Lemon Chair and they do covers of various bands in a shoegaze fashion. Here they are covering What You Want by My Bloody Valentine probably the most famous shoegaze band. Their cover sounds pretty unique compared to the original song. I can only recognize the general lyrics and notes are the same.

For reference here is the original What You Want song by My Bloody Valentine. The original is louder and Lemon Chair's is a bit lighter with some additional background instruments in a mix.

That's all for now, thanks for looking :-)

I actually had to look up the term 'shoegaze' before coming back to these songs. They do definitely seem to fit the genre! Thank you for teaching and showing me something new today!

They are too busy looking at their massive pedal boards during the concert to do anything other than look at their shoes tapping the pedals lol.

Shoegaze always makes me think of @sagesigma for some reason and I know that he is always on the lookout for new music, so hopefully some of these tunes are new to him, I know they are new to me and I really enjoyed them.

Lemon chair is an interesting cover band that somehow makes the cover sound original. I think I let sage know about them before since they are in the shoegaze realm.

@ablaze and @sketch.and.jam oh yes...currently on a deep dive of new shoegaze i'm hoping to get my head and ears around to share. I have a post ready for later but not so much a shoegaze one...love What you Want

Hey sketch - quick side question : would you happen to have a recoomendation for a decent pop up sun tent I could buy to use in our backyard/hiking adventures? I tried to go down the review rabbit hole but got lost and a major headache.
