Music can be anything you want it be
Hello everyone, Did you know your heartbeat changes a mimics the music you like listening to? Music is something we all enjoy. It would be weird to find someone who doesn’t enjoy it. I’d like to tell you my favorite genre(s) if music and why I choose to listen to that particular type of music. But first, let me tell you what music is to me.
Music is love, music is happiness, music is nostalgia, music is antiquity. Also, music can be sad, music can be bad memories, music can be pain. Different types of songs and sounds bring out different kinds of emotions within us. At the orchestra, it is proper etiquette to remain silent when the orchestra is playing. Within the hearts of the audience is a kaleidoscope of emotions; excitement, happiness, wonder! On the dance floor of a weddings, cherished memories are made with the songs played.
I listen to many genres of music; rap, hip hop, hi-hife, country, amapiano, you name it. By far, Afrobeats, which is currently a world sensation, is my favourite kind/genre of music. Amapiano comes in a close second place.
I choose Afrobeats because not only is it entertaining and brings out the dancer in me, I also love the fact that it has taken the world by surprise. We have American and UK artistes readily accepting and reaching out to work with African music artistes. We have the like on Selina Gomez, J Cole, Chris Brown, Beyoncé, you name them!
At this point, I want to give a best shout to some of my favourite artistes in Africa (specifically Nigeria) for leading the charge on this. Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Tems, Omah Lay, Rema, Asake, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy, Oxlade, Joeboy, Jemi Alade. Listening to these artistes bring me joy, and happiness. The one thing I like most about afrobeats is that it is easy to sing along with. It doesnt take long to familiarize yourself with it. Listening to afrobeats takes me to a different place, a fun and happy place.
Currently, I jam to Davido’s Kante ft. Fave, Tems’ Love me Jeje, Kiss Daniel’s Showa, Joeboy’s Everyday, Kaestyle’s Dealer ft. Omah lay. These are afrobeats songs released within the span of two months. I jam to many many afrobeats songs that predate these. I recommend the above mentioned songs to any music lover out there and especially if you are into afrobeats. Enjoy and thank me later.
Lastly, I want to give another shoutouts to Ghanaian atistes as well for their wonderful contributions to afrobeats and other genres if music as well. The likes of Stonebwoy, King promise, Kwame Eugene, Kidi, Kwesi Arthur, Camidoh, Shatta Wale and Sarkodie. There are other artistes from the other African countries that are making strides in elevating african music as well.
African music will continue to grow. I am glad I had the chance to appreciate the brilliant work of all these amazing artistes. I hope you had I a wonderful time reading this as I had writing see you another time.

If you didn’t mention stone boy then you definitely didn’t talk about music. I wanted to say Ghana music but that man is international now and bigger than Ghana music.
Most definitely, Stonebwoy to the world Miss
Just seeing The African Giant here is enough to make me agree to everything you said. In my adult life, the only people I listen to is Burna Boy and my mom.
😅
just Burna and your mom
I would love to see your dance moves.😂 just give me a call when you’re attending an event .
Music carries a different meaning for everyone. I’ve also been Jamming to Davido’s Kante song. But I’m not really a fan of stone boy.😂
You bet!
yh, that Kante song is good
you should try stoneboy too, his style is quite different but you'll like it
I will think about it.😂
