Music, A medicine for the soul
Music is like a language, it's played in every part of the world, among the small, middle and high class. Music can be a solution for stress, depression, and sometimes a sore to the heart. King Saul in the bible often demanded that David play for him harp each time he was possessed with an evil spirit and the spirit of the music was his healing grace. Music has a genre, and each serves a purpose. There is music for sad times, music for good times, music that uplift one's spirit, and another that weakens one. It seems to penetrate into one's soul and either heals or worsen one's wound.
The few times I stayed with my parents, both mum and grandma, I realized they had songs they sang each time they were either happy or sad. For some reason, I believe the music was a medicine to their soul, they seem to find solace after singing those songs probably because it resonates with their current situation and it was easier for them to connect easily. Anyone who listened to them would know they were either sad or happy, till date , I notice they still do that especially when their heart is full of worries.
Personally, I listen to music when I need to console my heart from a lot of things, or when I need a good rest. A slow and soft music for the night, and probably a love song each time I miss someone dear to me. Music most often comes with a message, especially music from the old times where they sang about life and left behind messages to teach younger generations on how to live a fulfilled life. Music is a medicine to our soul, it brings healing to a heavy heart if the song carries messages that answer to our needs. Music can be anything to anyone depending on the state of such an individual, but for those that listen to it, it's medicine for the soul.
