AFRI-TUNES WEEK 186// Yeye//@Shemjosh
Hello! welcome to my blog and this is yet another AFRI-TUNES WEEK 186 this time around i will be doing a Gbagyi song "Yeye" My name remains @Shemjosh, as you listen to my entry I hope and believe you will enjoy the song God bless you.
It's not new to some of us on the Afritunes community that I'm Gbagyi by tribe. That's my identity, and I find it fascinating to praise God in my local dialect. The connection and originality are on a deeper level, and it feels like God understands this language better because it's the one I understand more deeply. Every tribe and tongue can bless the Lord's name, regardless of origin, and God understands them all.
The song "Yeye Yesu nya ko mwalo" (Jesus' kind of love is big/superb) is a popular Gbagyi chorus among Nigerian churches and diaspora communities. It highlights Christ's love on the cross of Calvary and His sacrifice for humanity. The lyrics "Alawowu, ntu ya laifi Bo o aya" (They killed Him because of our sins) drive home the significance of Christ's love.
This song originated from the early days of Gospel missionary work in our locality, passed down orally without a documented author. Although Gbagyi gospel musicians like E-Daniels have recorded their versions, the original writer remains unknown.
feel free to contact me if you want to learn Gbagyi songs.😜 Thank you for reading and listening to my entry. God bless you.
