Skybaus: Pioneering Texas Deathcore in the VR Universe | Web3 Metal Write-Up

Emerging from the vibrant heart of Texas, Skybaus is not just a band; it's a deathcore phenomenon setting the stage for a new era of metal music. Hailing from just outside of Dallas, Skybaus has been shredding the Texas scene with their bone-crushing sound since their formation in 2021, rapidly becoming a name synonymous with relentless rhythm and an unyielding pursuit of musical ferocity.

The band’s latest single, ‘Entropy,’ released on February 9th, is a testament to their evolution and ambition. Featuring the renowned Dan Tucker from the Colorado deathcore band Crown Magnetar, the standalone single paves the way for the band's upcoming EP, showcasing their growth and relentless drive to innovate within the deathcore genre.

Hailing from Pleasant Grove, East Dallas, the essence of Skybaus is 100% Texan. A foundation built on blast beats, down-tuned guitars, and growled vocals, the core of Skybaus's music melds savage intensity with complex, multi-layered compositions. As their breakdowns erupt, they unleash chaos, inviting the mosh pit to widen and beckoning the flurry of windmills and spin kicks to take over.

To become the first deathcore band to play in VR, Skybaus collaborated with Third Planet Studio and AR/VR solopreneur Hexidized. The result was a virtual reality listening party held inside the Spatial.io VR world and streamed out to Twitch. The pioneering collaboration led to the band streaming both a live performance, as well as sharing pre-recorded material inside the VR world, all towards offering fans a unique, immersive experience.

Their VR shows with Third Planet Studio have carved a niche for them within this innovative domain. The band is open to the idea of further integrating their music with web3 technologies in the future, acknowledging the potential to enhance fan engagement through these platforms.
