Weird But Kawaii
Introduction
Nothing too out of the ordinary happening these days. There was a nice holiday yesterday but back to work today. Last week I shared some songs from NF. This week I want to share three songs from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu for three tune tuesday hosted by ablaze. This is a bit random and her songs are a bit weird in my opinon. It's definitely a unique taste but the songs are catchy.
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is a Japanese singer. She's also a tv host and a model. She's known for being kawaii (cute). I think I randomly came across her when I was in my Japanese music phase around 10 years ago.
#1. Candy Candy - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ)
Let the weirdness begin. Candy candy is an interesting song because I don't think it's about candy. It's about trying to be happy. The candy is like representing the sweetness of life. We have to chew the candy and enjoy it which is another way of saying to enjoy life. It's kind of hard to imagine a weird song like this has a deeper meaning to it.
#2. PONPONPON - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ)
Now this is her most famous song. I think every Japanese person knows this song. It's complete nonsense but I think that's the beauty of the song. I think the song might be trying to tell us it's ok to be different/weird. I find the chorus to be super catchy where she goes pon pon pon wae wae.
#3. Ninja Re Bang Bang - Kyary Pamyu Pamyu (きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ)
Honestly, this one is my favorite. it's also a bit weird but I like the ninja theme for this song. I'm not too sure about the meaning of this song but it's super catchy. If you understand the lyrics, do share what this song means! Anyways I like the music video and choreography as well for this song.

an interesting choice of music and definitely out of the ordinary, there were some whose videos made me laugh, I never understood the extroverted style of the Japanese. Of the three videos, I liked the first one the best, but unfortunately, it's music that I will only listen to once in my life hahaha thanks for sharing. 💕
Ninja Re Bang Bang was playing everywhere in town at the time. As for the meaning of the lyrics... I tried reading them in Japanese, but I don't understand them. I can't say "Pamyu Pamyu" very well.
It is interesting that the word "Kawaii" is also used in other countries. Is it different from "Pretty" or "Cute"?
oh kawaii i use it as cute. i think its something that came from anime. a lot of anime stuff influenced other countries xD like Omae Wa Mou Shindeiru and stuff

Yes, they watched the anime a while back. Actually, I've never watched it properly, but according to my husband, it's a story of sibling rivalry involving the world.
