Supporting Not So Popular Singer Part 1 Ben Hum
I played pickeball last night. It was fun and I actually didn't play sports in a long time. The time went by fast. We started at 10pm and played until a bit over 1am. The person managing the place played with us and even extended our time by one hour. Anyways, today I want to share three songs for three tune Tuesday from a not so popular singer. His name is Ben Hum. He does a lot of song covers on Youtube but I think he recently started creating his own songs in the past 1-2 years. I will share a cover he did and two of his own original songs.
#1. 終究還是因為愛 (In the end, it's still because of love) - Trash, Benn Hum Cover
The original band that sings this is Trash. Their version is more of a rock version. I like Benn's version because his voice is more gentle and I love the EDM feel to the background. I like how he turned the song to his own. I think it's great when I get to hear a cover of a song and the person makes it a completely new unique version and it's executed well. The song is talking about love. It's about the growth from a relationship. In this song, the person is reflecting after a break up about how they've become stronger or in a sense a better person. I think in a way it's saying love is a powerful thing. It brings people together and makes them try to be better version of themselves.
#2. Love Me - Ben Hum
This is a super sweet song. I love the simplicity with focus on the vocals and simple melody. The title of the song is a dead giveaway on the meaning of this song. The song is about a guy that has totally fallen for a girl. He's chasing her but he's not yet sure of her feelings. She hasn't given any hints or said anything that indicates that she's interested in him. The guy wants her to love him and hopes that she can reciprocate his love for her.
#3. 难道 What if? - Ben Hum
Personally, I like this song the best from Ben that is not a cover. I find the chorus to be catchy and I feel the lyrics are really relatable for real life. I also like the title what if. I think this is something that a lot of people think about sometimes. What if I did that, would things be different etc. The song is about being interested in someone and wanting to move from the friendship to a relationship. There's some concern that the friendship might be ruined if the feelings aren't mutual. Despite this, I think the song is encouraging people to just take a shot otherwise they will be left thinking "what if".
Thank You
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and listening. Let's support not so popular singers! Support Ben Hum. What do you think of his songs?
