Introduction

Today, I want to share three songs from BB (Backstreet Boys) for Three Tune Tuesday hosted by Ablaze. Backstreet Boys is an American boy vocal group consisting of five members. They mostly sang pop songs and they started around 1993 but most of their more popular songs came out years later around my childhood.

#1. I Want It That Way - Backstreet Boys

I believe this song is a great opener for those that don't know Backstreet Boys. I Want It That Way is their most iconic song. This is probably one of the top karaoke songs at a certain time and it's still being sung now. It's a classic song that is timeless. It's catchy even now in my opinion.

The song is straightforward. It's about a guy that is in love with a girl and he's not sure of how she feels about him hence the lyrics "Am I your fire?, the one desire". The guy doesn't care if she doesn't like him. He will keep chasing her because she's his fire. I believe the I want it that way is referring to maybe "I just want to be friends" or I don't want to things to change between us because sometimes relationships get awkward when one person confesses and the other doesn't reciprocate the feelings.

#2. Shape Of My Heart - Backstreet Boys

This is another beautiful song by Backstreet Boys. I really like the chorus of this song. The song has to do with reflecting on the past. The guy looks back at his old self and realized that he hurt the person he was in a relationship with. This can be interpreted from the lyrics "I played my part, kept you in the dark now let me show you the shape of my heart". The guy wants to show how he really feels about his significant other and is hoping for forgiveness.

#3. Drowning - Backstreet Boys

As usual, I save my favorite song for last. I personally feel drowning is the best song by Backstreet Boys. This song is a very sweet love song. The song is about the feeling of being in love. Sometimes people are so in love with someone that they can't help but be drawn to them. I also think it's interesting because when you think of drowning you think of someone dying in water but in this song they are using it in a positive way. I guess another interpretation could be that the person is in a toxic relationship but they can't seem to let them go because they are in love and they are drowning due to their love with a toxic partner.
