It's another Tuesday and you know it's time for me to share three songs. I'm continuing sharing Japanese songs this week but this week has a little bit of a twist. The group that sings these Japanese songs is called ウェザーガールズ or in English they are known as Weather Girls. The twist is that these members are from Taiwan. According to wikipedia, they are the first Taiwanese girl group to go to Japan. If I'm not mistaken, all the members were born in Taiwan and they just happened to learn Chinese.

An interesting story about this group is that they were formed to act as weather forecasters in cosplay for entertainment. Each girl in the group would handle one day so one for Monday, one for Tuesday and so on. They somehow got popular in Japan which is why they got to debut in Japan as an idol singing group. I want to say their songs are a bit more to the cute girl side but they are catchy. I remember listening to their songs when I was in high school and I think they are very underrated; most people probably never heard of this group.

#1. 恋の天気予報 (Weather Forecast of Love) - ウェザーガールズ Weather Girls

I'm starting with their most popular song which translates to weather forecast of love in English. This was their debut song which I thought was cool because they were able to incorporate their group name into the song. The song is about love but they use weather as a figurative way to describe the different temperatures of love like sometimes someone is warm or someone is cold and sometimes is good "sunny" or sometimes crazy "typhoon".

#2. Tomorrow World - ウェザーガールズ Weather Girls

Tomorrow World is a more slow paced song then the first song. I like the background for this song and I like the message the song is sharing. The song is about friendship and how it's good to have great friends by your side to depend on. They are as good as family and lovers. The person is looking forward to hang out with their friends and update them as time goes by or in other words the future hence the title of the song "Tomorrow World".

#3.HEY BOY～ウェイシェンモ？～ - ウェザーガールズ Weather Girls

As usual, I save what I felt was the best song from a certain singer or group as the last song. My favorite part of the song is the chorus because it's super catchy. I also like how they mixed two Chinese phrases in the song. They say 再見 Zai Jian = byebye and 為什麼 Weishenme = Why. If I'm not wrong, this song is about a breakup and the girl wants to get revenge by improving herself to make the guy regret that he dumped her.
