Introducing You To Snow
Introduction
I had an amazing day. I had a networking event and tried pickleball for the first time. Honestly, I still think tennis is better but I can see how pickleball got so popular since the entry skill wise is way easier than tennis. Anyways, today I want to share three songs from Snow Jiang for my three tune tuesday contest hosted by ablaze.
Snow Jiang songs are a unique taste in my opinion. She has a super distinct voice and her music is amazing. I like how she combines traditional and modern music elements in her music. You can feel that ancient kind of Chinese feel to it and it will kind of grow on you.
#1. 风夜行 Walking On A Windy Night - 蒋雪儿 Snow Jiang
I'm not sure on the meaning of this song but I will just give my interpretation based on my small understanding of Chinese and google translate. The song uses a lot of figurative language and I feel even google translate can't accurately interpret the lyrics for this song. I believe the song is about a girl leaving a guy. They might have been in a relationship. The girl leaves during a windy night and just let's destiny play it's part if they meet again. This could've been something happened in the past. Now she wants to write a song about that past.
#2. 燕无歇 The Swallow Does Not Rest - 蒋雪儿 Snow Jiang
This is another great song. It's pretty close with the last song in terms of being the best since I usually save the best for last. Now for this song I actually roughly understand the meaning better. The song is about someone that gives up everything for the person they love. They do whatever they can to try to change the fate but fate is fate and it's not something that can be changed. It was destined to be. In this case, the fate was an ending with heartbreak. Despite this bad ending, the person in this song has no regrets. In the song, they reference a shrike and a swallow. I believe this is meant to show that they weren't the same. It just wasn't a match. The song is from the swallow's point of view and this swallow did everything it could hence it does not rest.
#3. 爱河 Love River - 蒋雪儿 Snow Jiang
The last song is my favorite and it's a bit emo. This song is about a relationship and the people in the relationship broke up. In the lyrics, the person claims to not to be able to see the rainbow again which is figurative for losing their happiness. The person doesn't exactly know why they broke up. Due to this, the person wants to ask and know the reason why. They also want to know why they can't be friends anymore. They are wondering if everything is just an excuse to end their relationship. Then the last bit of the song just mentions how love brings happiness and sadness. The person is super sad that they actually cry a river hence the title of the song love river. It's a river made out of love from the sadness of losing a significant other.
Thank You
If you made it to the end, thank you so much for reading and listening. What do you think of Snow Jiang? Do you think you could like this genre of music?

Brilliant voice. Superb editing. Ultimate special effect and harmony singing. Many brilliant singers in mainland china got "skipped" sometimes for no obvious reason other than there's simply too damn many people there. After listening to the 3 songs above and how YOU feel about those songs, I decided to go and explore some of her other songs which were highlighted by her Baidu profile. She's known to be one of those "song is more famous than the singer" category 😂
No joke. This is one of those singers I don't mind set a playlist in the car, blasting towards KL busy traffic on a daily basis. Thank you for the introduction 🙏
Damn didn't expect you to like this kind of music. I feel it's a super unique taste, not many would like that ancient traditional feel. All the songs she has are super meaningful lyric wise.
Glad you checked out her other songs because I only shared three songs for this contest. Oh if you like her songs I can share more Chinese songs in the future. At the moment, I actually love Chinese songs haha but I wasn't sure if many people would appreciate or understand it on Hive because most my followers not Chinese I think. I try to keep a variety; I've done english, japanese and thai songs haha.
Do you like emoish songs?
