Tuesday the 5th...
Music is a wonderful thing. A beautiful art form that can be used for anything, be made from anything and be about anything.
Nigerian music is even more special, were a very attuned people so most times our songs are never planned and we just move based on inshallah and vibes.
That's why you see our freestyles blowing up the Internet and yet those who created something so spectacular can be an average Joe on his next track.
Yet this particular freestyle isn't done by any average Joe and it went from just a playful freestyle to a full on song.
Dem Dey ~ Burna Boy
The Lambo truck controversy of that month was so funny and Burna boy, despite being in the wrong (in my opinion) really milked the situation dry😂😂
The song is a vibe, the story is a lesson.😂😉
Tatata ~ Burna Boy ft Travis Scott
This next song by Burna Boy is lower in the controversy aspect and more on the party vibes.
I'll admit, it was odd seeing American rap sensation Travis on a hip-hop song but I guess most American artists are doing the features now and it was only a matter of time for him.
He aced it though. Didn't try to overdo it and come off wrong, just went with the flow and made lovely verse ✨
Runaway ~ Rema
Like most of Rema's songs, I keep on running into them on Tiktok. This particular one was in one of my close friends videos and the lyrics caught me.
It's been a while since I heard the old Rema. This new smoking boy in black has made most people forget the calm lover boy of the past and it's quite sad😂
Regardless, it's not much but this is my entry for @ablaze's Three Tunes Tuesday initiative.
I wonder, which song is your favorite?
