Family Relations..

family-4937226_1280.jpg

There's something rather iconic about having a good family in which all siblings get along, the parents love for the children and for each other stay true, and the house is just a bright and conducive space for every member of the family...

Yet sometimes it isn't so...

Each home has their issues, some home more than most.
For some it could simply be something as trivial as sibling rivalry which causes the house imbalance while for other's it can be something as drastic as losing a loved one.
Regardless this sense of imbalances, are things each family has unique to them and must sort it out.

This song is one of the two songs which influenced this post.
JID's The Forever Story is an album that truly spoke to me the first time and everytime I listen to it.
With lovely tracks expressing different themes like Kody Buy, 2007, Better Days and Dance Now, JID uses this album to tell the story of his rise to fame, the influences on his music from his environment, friends some strangers and greatest of all his family.
In the aspect of Family, there are multiple songs that point out the bonds between them but none is more personal than Sistanem.
In Sistanem, Jid talks about his relationship with his sister. The song is something more of an apology letter back to her as he tries to mend their broken relationship.
This broken relationship started with an earlier disagreement based on his wanting to go on the musical career, it got heated and they went their seperate ways.
Now older, JID wrote this song as probably a gateway to a new relationship, meaningful as it is, we don't know if the message got answered, due to the abrupt answer, thus leaving us with a gaping thought...

Did she call back?....

This track by Jack Harlow is a bit more painful and explicit than Sistanem.
On Blame On Me, Jack delves deeply into the emotional neglect served to a little brother by an elder, the abuse that cost the brothers their relationship , abuse the elder got from his dad beatings.
What's special about this song is the way the story was told, from different perspective we see different forms of the pressure that broke this family bond.
From the younger brother, the elder brother and the father as they all are in a kind of cycle that started from the father and his elder brother.
It goes to show just how deep relations are, and how much abuse and bad feelings can pass through them, sometimes through generations.

Author's Notes

In actuality, I just needed a space to talk and rant about these songs.
Been listening to them for a while and having them play in minds, the regular #ttt wasn't enough so I said why not here.
Family relationships is a topic I really don't like to dwell it because of how personal it gets.
In actuality, I tend to shy away from plenty personal things on the internet because of how quickly I've found it can be used against you.
Yet family relationships, are public too.
The state of a person fr a toxic family is clear to the general public so I said why not just write it out here. ~(At this point I don't even know what I'm saying 😂)

If this rant/post did move/please/touch or cause any certain emotion in you in any way, some signs of life would be appreciated. A vote, A reblog and most important of all, a comment!!
We all know the vote is the most important 😂😂

Sometimes it's OK to be serious, and family relations--those wounds last a lifetime. We can heal them, or try to, but there will always be that history.

I like both songs. Just listened to a little bit of each now, because I'm busy, but will listen more later.

Is it just me or do both of them sound alike? Maybe it's because they use the same style of rap. This is the first time I am hearing both songs and I'm already loving sistanem. I will look more into the Forever Story album to see if I will find more songs I will like

If you loved Sistanem, then there would be more songs you'll love there.

Is it just me or do both of them sound alike...

It's probably just you, I'm afraid 😂
They have different accents and different style of rap but coincidentally, they sang a song based on the same theme here...

Happy musical exploring..
