A Peak at My Playlist...
My musical taste is diverse, it's less than a defined taste and more of the raging cravings of a girl on her period.
At least that's a strong picture to create in your first sentence 😂
I've listened to a lot of artists from a lot of genres who've sung on a lot of topics. Plenty whom I happened to like their songs from the moment I heard them, I explored deeper into their music.
Many things can catch me as a listener to a song; the tone of your voice, your actual singing ability, the tunes and the lyrics (these are most important as I like to actually be able to understand what I'm listening).
I've listened to a lot of magical songs where the lyrics literally transport you to whatever scene the artist is building.
This happens mostly in rap songs and if I were to name a few off the top of my head.
I'd choose...
Kendrick Lamar ~ How Much A Dollar Cost
NF ~ Story
These two songs captivate the listener, literally dragging them in to watch the story as a third person, or sing along and be in the story.
Then there are the artists with soothing voices and beautiful melodies whose songs literally touch your soul.
I try my best to collect these songs when I see them..
Alec Benjamin ~ Let Me Down Slowly
JP Saxe ~ Little Big Yours
Most times its the lovely sound of the instruments or beats that gets me in a song...
U2~ I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Oh Hello~ Soldier Poet King
There's one addition to my playlist though that I never expected.
He's a popular artist, I doubt there's anyone who hasn't listened to him before yet I deliberately decided to stay off him.
At least that's until I heard one song that really shone him in a different light for me.
Shawn Mendes ~ Hold On
This song really touched me. The lyrics, the tune, the voice, everything was spot on.
This song was the catalyst and now so many other songs from his album are now part of my playlists 😂.

My playlist, loke yours, consists songs of different genres, all serving the purpose that i have made for them in my head depending on what exactly had been my reason for adding them to my library.
It's an interesting aspect of human nature and even more interesting of music, how we could have our feelings/emotions poked by changing between somgs.
It is truly interesting...
