4 Your Eyez Only... The Album

There are some albums which are a full on experience, a full on journey.
These albums when listened to from top to bottom just takes you through different emotions and feels all without leaving the basis of the full story.
There are only a handful of artists who I know make albums like that and I try to listen to every one of them.
Listen to the songs, both those that are off the charts good and those that are a little low..

Cause let's be real, after the hype, no artist actually spits out fire on every song...

Regardless, the first time I listen and loved such an album was when I listened to Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly.
A lovely album journey which highlighted the adversities he and his friends faced as young black youths in Compton.
After that, I went on to listen to his other albums, trying to find one which matched that vibe and flow.
I didn't search long as I noticed that's generally how he builds his own albums. Everything's a journey in which every experience he faced and every emotion he felt was put into words and imparted into his listeners.
As a writer who also deals with words I respect that heavily. When your words can leave me panting and thinking, when your words and songs can actually paint a picture, that's when you're a true artist.

Lately, I found another album like that when I listened to JID's The Forever Story.
JID's way with words was simply magical, the album was even more than that.
It had a great buildup, a lovely dash of emotion and experiences, with a swish of craziness when rhyming that only JID is capable.
Leaving you wanting to dance and still sit down and listen at the same time. It makes you truly understand the potential J.Cole saw when he recruited him.

To be honest, The Forever Story was the album which I wanted to listen to this money, but I thought I needed something fresh for @ablaze's #ttt later today.
Then I remembered a song which I worked out on this Blockchain two or three weeks ago.
4 Your Eyez Only, is and would forever be a loving track. An adage, a dying letter from a father to his daughter, one that is sure to always get nods of recognition, respect and sympathy from any rap hood.
Yet I have used that song before and recently too....
Hence in defeat I did the best thing I could..
I listened to the album...

4 Your Eyez Only..

J._Cole_—_4_Your_Eyez_Only_album_cover.jpg

This album tells the story of Jcole's childhood. Talking about his experiences with a whole lot of topics including racial incarceration, discrimination, gang violence, fatherhood, love and ultimately hope.
It went on to win a lot of awards and stuff but you can read more about those here

My three songs from this album are songs which really touched me. I won't write about them because I feel I've written enough and I simply just want you to listen and get the full experience.

Change...

The meaning behind this song really moved me. Living in a country where the citizens are so quick to blame the government for their incompetence, blame the police for their harsh methods, blame the politicians for the corruption, blame the traders for the greediness, blame their neighbors for the selfishness, blame anybody and anything other than themselves.
Hoping for a change of the country when they themselves are unwilling to change. It's heartbreaking...

the only real change comes from inside.. 🎶

We've got to change...

Deja Vu

A song about love, although it's what it seems like at first...
Later at the ending one wonders what exactly it might be.
Scared of love maybe?
The outro also puts one out with its deep meaning..

I know you were meant for me, but,
Darlin don't you wait for me, cus,
I can see the promise land, but,
I can't do no promising...

Folding Clothes..

This song was the most shocking to listen to of all, as such sheer tones, beats and lyrics wasn't expected after listening to the other grey and enlightening stuff in this album.
Such feelings of hope and love this song brought was a nice switch. I really appreciated it✨

Of course there are a lot more great songs in this album; Immortal and Neighbors are great tunes to give an ear to.
Regardless, I just simply wanted to share these 3 for today's #ttt

Y'all can tell me your best in the comments 😀
