Unboxing Shure MV88

Sometimes, when I order something online - especially things that interest me more than usual - I get as excited as a little kid when I open them. That’s how I feel right now, too.
What exactly is the MV88?

This is a USB-C microphone for phone, ordered from the Muziker store, which has a very solid selection for anyone involved in music.
Anyone who follows me knows that I’ve been recording videos with my phone for years and posting them on the Hive blockchain. First off, I have to admit this is far from professional - it’s lo-fi - but I’m trying my best to improve the sound in whatever way I can, and it seems to me that the sound quality is actually getting better.

I won’t go into too much detail right now; I’ll move on to the unboxing.
What’s inside the cardboard box?
Another cardboard box 😂 — the original one from the manufacturer, which lists practically everything this microphone has to offer.
Anyone involved in music knows that Shure makes top-of-the-line microphones.

Let's keep on opening things up!
First, here are some brief instructions. I like them. They're short. :)
RTFM! (Read the fucking manual!)

And then there's this little oval box - it looks kind of like an egg! 😂

I opened this oval box and finally got to the microphone!
It weighs 40 grams and also has a windscreen or noise-canceling cover...

Yeah, plug-and-play. Just plug it into the USB-C port, and it works right away!
I also downloaded the Movit Video App by Shure from the Play Store, which has a few extra settings. And let's get started!

I've already recorded a few live performances (though I haven't posted them yet), and when I compare the audio recorded with the Zoom AM7 external microphone I've been using so far, I think the Shure MV88 sounds better!

And this is the Zoom AM7. It served me well for four years. It’s better than any built-in phone microphone.
But let’s move on - the Shure is newer and features better technology.
