TTT - New Model Army
Hello music lovers! π΅
It's Tuesday, time for #threetunetuesday, and a chance for me to share something I'm listening to.
My last post here was a week ago, and I continue with the music, recalling memories from the past together with you.
In today's post, I'm reminded of a band I listened to quite intensively a few years ago, but now a little less so. I haven't seen them live yet, but maybe I will.
New Model Army or NMA is an English rock band from Bradford, England, who have been performing continuously since 1980. In all this time, they have produced a wide variety of music and released 15 studio albums, 6 live albums, 20 singles, and a large number of compilations and videos. And there's more. All in all, very productive band :)
The music is very diverse with influences ranging from folk, punk, rock, and soul. A key part of their output is the lyrics of frontman and singer Justin Sullivan, who is very politically and apocalyptically engaged.
For those of you who are not (yet) familiar with #threetunetuesday or #ttt - these are tags you need to set when you post.
It's a music initiative started by @ablaze, and with his words, the jist is as follows:
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs that I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post, I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the reward.
So, to continue with the music, I've picked out a few clips.
New Model Army - Sunrise
This song, I would rather say ballad, is pretty much on my playlist for all occasions. I remember when it came out in 2014, on Between Wine And Blood album, I listened to it regularly for a while on my morning commute. Great bass that just keeps on spinning. It always gave me positive energy.
New Model Army - End Of Days
The song is from their 2019 album From Here and is about the coming end, or a new beginning that will be completely different, because there is no going back. Excellent, very polished production, and a message, which is a feature of their last albums. Very well received by the public and music critics.
New Model Army - Angry Planet
This song is also from Between Wine And Blood, very harsh and critical of society. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the video I watched once and it stayed in my memory, it certainly would have stayed in yours, a great mix of natural disasters and war footage, apparently, it was taken off YT because it was too harsh. So here is just the music with the lyrics.
There's so much I don't even know what I'd give for a bonus :)
New Model Army - The Hunt
The Hunt is a song from the 1998 album Strange Brotherhood. This video is from 2006. It's best known for being a Sepultura cover, and it gained a lot of listeners for NMA when Sepultura fans were looking for the original, which is of course better than the cover.
That's all for today, thank you for your attention. I hope today's selection was interesting and put you in a relaxed mood like it did me :)
This is my 31st post for #threetunetuesday, which was started by @ablaze. I hope what I'm sharing is interesting for others too, because then it makes sense.

Genial!!
Thanks for stopping by.
Luckily, it's not just stones that can roll despite their age. Even better when it's a whole army!
Haha, especially if the models are new π
Out of all the tunes, End of Days make more sense to me
The song is really nice!
If you research the band you'll see that they have a lot of such songs.
I so much love this your tune
Which one?
Thanks for sharing these amazing musical pieces. I think the band is considerably talented. Have a nice day.
Thanks for the visit, glad you like the band. π
