TTT - Brian Setzer

Hello music lovers! 🎡

It's Tuesday, time for #threetunetuesday and a chance for me to share something I'm listening to.
My last post was two weeks ago, but now I've found something that might be interesting again.

Happy December is here, and the holidays are fast approaching, the real question is how much more time we'll have for announcements and suddenly it will be Christmas and New Year. But that's the way it is, time passes more quickly than usual during this period. And not to forget that, I would like to introduce one musician I usually listen to at this time.

Brian Setzer is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, who started out in the rockabilly revival in the early 1980s in the band Stray Cats, which was still quite popular, releasing nine albums and selling ten million records. They broke up in 1984, but as they became very popular in the US they still toured together and occasionally reunited, most recently in 2019 for the album 40.
He built a solo career in parallel but later came back to the fore with his Brian Setzer Orchestra, started playing swing music with seventeen other musicians, and still performs with this orchestra today.

For those of you who are not (yet) familiar with #threetunetuesday or #ttt - these are tags you need to set when you post.
It's a music initiative started by @ablaze, and with his words, the jist is as follows:

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs that I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the reward.

So, to continue with the music, I've picked out a few clips.

🎡 🎧 🎀

Stray Cats - Stray Cat Strut

The song is from the first Stray Cats album, released in 1981. It peaked at number six on the UK Top Albums chart for 1981 and the video we are watching is from 1992.

🎡 🎧 🎀

The Brian Setzer Orchestra - The Dirty Boogie

This song is from the 1998 album of the same name, which was the third album by the Brian Seltzer Orchestra and a turning point for recognition. A classic boogie in a swing arrangement.

🎡 🎧 🎀

The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Jingle Bells (Live)

The orchestra is probably best known for playing Christmas carols. Here's their interpretation of Jingle Bells from the 2010 Christmas Extravaganza concert.

🎡 🎧 🎀

And, of course, a bonus, the Brian Setzer Orchestra's performance at Woodstock in 1999.

Brian Setzer Orchestra - Malaguena / Brand New Cadillac

I hope that today's selection has given you at least a brief insight into the work of this extraordinary musician if you are not already familiar with him.

This is my 28th post for #threetunetuesday, which was started by @ablaze. I hope what I'm sharing is interesting for others too, because then it makes sense.

That's all for today, thank you for your attention.

I usually wonder why some bands break up after a few year
Anyway, those songs are cool
I like them!

There are thousands of reasons, but members usually get tired of each other because they are always together.

musical collectives are like family ... and even the best of them become tired of each other, with very rare exceptions.

Oh thats simple. Tension! A group of people can rarely tolerate the contradictions that human relationships, egos produce... friction is inevitable. sooner or later folks get tired of it. In addition, if these are artists, with years, as a rule, they may develop different musical interests, and then they prefer to divorce and go solo on personal travel, each choosing their own musical roads.

Great selection of tracks. Brian Setzer did so much for rockabilly in the US at a time when rockabilly got very little respect here. Always one of my favorite performers.

I followed him from the very beginning with Stray Cats, then not for a while, but for the last few years, especially in this pre-Christmas time, we always listen to him. He knows what he is doing.😎

I like it best when the cast is reduced to a minimum.

I listen to it occasionally, but usually at Christmas time, when he has a full orchestra.

Yes, he is good. Before Christmas time is our time for rockabilly and that sort of things, so I think of it every year.
