Three Tune Tuesday - Tito & Tarantula

Hello, music lovers! 🎵

On #threetunestuesday, I go back to listening to music growing up and absorbing the music I had access to.
Today, I have something else in mind. I noticed somewhere that next week, near me, the band Tito & Tarantula is playing. I've known this band for a long time, mainly because of the films in which their music has been used.

The only dilemma I have at the moment is where to go to hear them. Is it Ljubljana on 31 March or Rijeka on 1 April? Rijeka is closer, half an hour by car, but I need at least an hour to get to Ljubljana.
I haven't decided where yet. Maybe after this post, I will :)

Tito & Tarantula is an American band from Hollywood, California. Formed in 1992, they became known for their music in the films of director Robert Rodriguez. The band has changed line-ups several times, with frontman, singer, and guitarist Tito Larriva being the only one who has been around the whole time. They have released eight studio albums, the last one !Brincamos!, two weeks ago.
Their music is pure guitar rock with blues influences and elements of the so-called Chicano Mexican style.

Here are some of their songs I have on my playlists.

Tito & Tarantula - After Dark

The song is from their debut album, 1997's Tarantism. The song was a worldwide hit, notably for its use in the film From Dusk Till Dawn, directed by Robert Rodriguez. In one scene in the movie, they play the song as a house band, starring the iconic diva Salma Hayek dancing with a white dove. Quentin Tarantino can also be seen cooing at her. He wrote the screenplay and played one role. If anyone is interested in seeing it, here's a scene.

Tito & Tarantula - My Power Is in Your Hands

The song is taken from their fourth album, Andalucia, released in 2002. It continues their initial musical direction of rhythmic blues rock with Latin American influences.
The song takes a more introspective approach, suggesting vulnerability, which is particularly emphasized by melodic riffs and slightly hoarse vocals that add depth.

Tito & Tarantula - Angry Cockroaches

The song is from the first album. It is also known by its Spanish or Mexican name, Cucarachas Enojadas, and, like the first one, was used in the film From Dusk Till Dawn.

And a bonus, the song Machete, from the 2008 album Back Into The Darkness and the 2010 film of the same name, recorded at a concert in Bonn, Germany.
