Three Tune Tuesday 🎢 Kerala Dust

avatar

Hello, music lovers! 🎡

On #threetunestuesday, I reflect on the music I listened to growing up and the music I had access to. But Kerala Dust is not from my youth. They're here and now.

The reason for today's selection is relatively trivial. It's very sunny outside, but also very cold. For the second week in a row, the daily temperature has been a few degrees below zero, and when I go for my daily walk, I want some music that reminds me of warmth and summer.
And Kerala Dust is just that :)

For those of you who are not (yet) familiar with #threetunetuesday or #ttt - these are the tags you need to set when you post.
It's a music initiative started by @ablaze, and with his words, the jist is as follows:

Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs that I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the reward.

Kerala Dust is a band from London. It was founded by frontman Edmund Kenny in 2016 as an electronic solo project, later becoming a trio, and now they play as a quartet on tour. For me, this is a relatively new name, which I discovered about four years ago and have been following regularly ever since. They have released two EPs and three albums to date.
They live mostly in Berlin or Zurich, and have also had a few American tours, so it's no wonder that there is almost nothing British about them. Their sound is a mixture of dark club energy, the American dusty roads of the American Southwest, and melancholic European electronica.

Here are some of the songs

Kerala Dust - Moonbeam, Midnight, Howl

The song is from the album Violet Drive, released in February 2023. Hypnotic, slow, with a very atmospheric beginning and melancholic vocals. Downtempo electronica and slight desert blues influences. It's like driving alone in your car in the middle of the night, tired, listening to the radio...

🎡 🎧 🎡

Kerala Dust - Night Bell (Arizona)

The song is from the first album, 'Light, West', released in 2020, a desert-blues groove, road-trip noir, with distant narrative vocals and guitar reverb and delay.

Kerala Dust - Bell

The song Bell is from their latest album, An Echo Of Love, released in August 2025. Melancholic, slightly dark, with a sense of obsession, like a bell ringing in your head that won't stop. A hypnotic mix of blues, psychedelic rock, and techno β€” a typical "shapeshift," as they call it.

As a bonus, another live performance on KEXP, from the latest album, An Echo Of Love, was fresh four days ago.

Kerala Dust - The Orb, TX

That's all for today, thank you for your attention.

This is my 83rd post for #threetunetuesday, which @ablaze started.
I hope what I'm sharing is enjoyable for others, too, because then it makes sense.
