Three Tune Tuesday - Brian Eno
Hello, music lovers! 🎵
On #threetunestuesday, I reflect on the music I listened to growing up and the music I had access to.
After a long time, I remembered a musician I'd been following for his whole career, and one of his albums is even one of my favorites. I listened to his latest collaboration with Beatie Wolfe and decided to make him the star of this #ttt post :)
For those of you who are not (yet) familiar with #threetunetuesday or #ttt - these are tags you need to set when you post.
It's a music initiative started by @ablaze, and with his words, the jist is as follows:
Every Tuesday I'm going to share 3 songs that I like to listen to and I invite your feedback in the comments below. Better still, why not have a blast of your own Three Tune Tuesday and mention me in the post and I'll come and find the post and upvote it. If you could also use #threetunetuesday tag that would be great, as that is what I use when sifting through all the entries every Wednesday. It'll be a sweet way for us all to discover new music. You'll also be in with a chance of winning the reward.
Brian Eno is a British musician, multi-instrumentalist, and artist whose work spans composing music and playing, as well as pioneering experimental music genres such as rock, electronic, and ambient music that serve as a backdrop or accompaniment to other elements, inviting the listener to engage.
He began his career as a member of Roxy Music (1971-1973), playing synthesizers before transitioning to production, collaborations with other musicians, and visual art.
He has released 29 solo albums and 22 in cooperation with other musicians (Robert Fripp, David Byrne, U2, Nico, John Cale, and many others).
Some of his songs are of different styles.
Roxy Music - Virginia Plain
Virginia Plain is the first single by Roxy Music; it was not included on the first album, except for the 1972 USA version.
Brian Eno is in the background, playing a kind of box :) Actually, a VCS3 synthesizer gives the song an unusual, for those times, distinct sound picture compared to the other glam-rock bands.
Brian Eno - Black Frank
Black Frank is a song from his first solo album, Here Come The Warm Jets, released in 1973. The song is a 1950s rock'n'roll classic, the drums are almost identical to Bo Diddley's Who Do You Love, and Robert Fripp of King Crimson played the guitar.
Brian Eno - Deep Blue Day
Deep Blue Day is a song from the 1983 album Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks. The song was written for the documentary For All Mankind, about the Apollo space program.
The song was most successful in the movie Trainspotting and was also used in the films 28 Days Later and Traffic. It's a classic ambient track.
As a bonus, some tracks from 1992's Nerve Net (my favorite album of his), featuring elements of ambient rock and electronica.
Brian Eno - Fractal Zoom
That's all for today, thank you for your attention.
This is my 75th post for #threetunetuesday, which @ablaze started.
I hope what I'm sharing is enjoyable for others, too, because then it makes sense.
