Great. The sound quality from the phone is really good! I recently bought a new external microphone for my phone—the Shure M88-USBC—and it helps a lot. I’ve been using the ZOOM Am7 up until now. I’m really glad to see that someone else here is into this too :)

Glad you like it, thanks. Sometimes I get lots of drums and not enough bass. So, I've been boosting the midrange of the bass sound. I think the phones are good because it's designed to compete (with other phone manufact) and to cope with lots of ambient noise.
I'm Shure your Shure mic will bring lots of clarity. Maybe a cool low-Hz roll-off switch built into it?
It doesn't. However, it has a high-pass filter (low-cut) that can be enabled and adjusted in the Shure MOTIV app. But to me, the bass sounds fine in the recording. The only thing I'd do is boost the vocals. For that, I use Audacity, where I split the audio into multiple channels and then boost or cut a particular instrument or vocal track.
