New Tunes π΅ 31.10.2025 π
Hello music lovers! πΆ
Today, on Friday, we celebrate music and Halloween!
If you want to discover fresh musical vibes and enchanting soundscapes, we invite you to explore a selection of #newtunes by well-known and lesser-known artists!
The music is in the style of the current holiday π dark, sad, at times terrifying, just right for today's and tomorrow's parties.
Perhaps there is even a future global hit among them? You won't know until you listen :)

Eight songs of different genres and styles for curious music lovers! If you like something, you can dig deeper into musical treasures to find more detailed info.
If you don't like, skip it.

Lankum - Ghost Town
Lankum is an Irish experimental folk band that traces its roots back to 2000, when it was called Lynched, without significant success. In 2016, they changed their name to Lankum and only then gained the attention of music critics and the wider public. As Lankum, they have released four albums, the last one, Live in Dublin, last year.
The song Ghost Town is a cover of The Specials' 1981 song, a standalone single, released yesterday, just in time for Halloween, and transforms the legendary ska song about urban decay, unemployment, and misery in working-class neighborhoods into an epic atmospheric folk-drone dream.
The Damned - There's a Ghost in My House
The Damned are punk legends from London. If you don't know them, they are officially the first punk band to release an album (Damned Damned Damned from 1977). They have released 11 studio albums, including the single 'There's a Ghost in My House,' released yesterday β what a coincidence, haha β just in time for Halloween. They are also announcing their 12th album, Not Everybody Else, which will be out in January next year.
The song 'There's a Ghost in My House' is a cover of R. Dean Taylor's 1967 soul song.
SANGUISUGABOGG - Rotted Entanglement
Sanguisugabogg is an American band from Ohio, founded in 2019, with a cult following among fans of the death metal genre. So far, they have released four albums, the latest being Hideous Aftermath, released in early October.
Extreme music like death metal is brutal for most music audiences to listen to; the vast majority of it sounds like it was recorded in a barn or stable, but not Sanguisugabogg. Cruel and very heavy in sound, the rhythm shifts from fast to slow and back; clichΓ©d, morbid lyrics; vocals or snoring are precise; in short, excellent production and a corresponding sound image. Very suitable for fans.
But beware! The video is in the spirit of the moment, not ideal for those with weak nerves :)
Use Knife - Demain Sera Mieux
Use Knife is a Belgian-Iraqi trio based in Brussels, formed in 2022. A new name for me, presented as a fusion of East and West β a blending of two worlds and opposing musical influences: Iranian vocals and percussion, supported by synthetic structures, samples, and saxophone inserts. They released two albums at the end of March this year: the second, Γtat Coupable, from which the song 'Demain Sera Mieux' (in English, Tomorrow Will Be Better) is also taken.
The song is about leaving β leaving immediately, without delay, and is, of course, a personal story of trauma, expulsion, and collective pain.
Esoctrilihum - Supplication Of The Veiled Saint From The Secret Book Of The Ghostigmatah Rites
Esoctrilihum is a one-man project by French musician AsthΓ’ghul, active since 2017. He has released several singles and twelve albums. The latest album, Ghostigmatah β Spiritual Rites of the Psychopomp AbxulΓΆm, released in September, is another cosmic theology of madness, death, and transcendence performed in the grotesque dimension of abstract black metal that merges with liturgical and psychedelic sounds into a transdimensional ritual. Huh?
Don't believe what's written? Listen to this alchemical black metal rite of passage for the souls of the dead in the story Supplication Of The Veiled Saint From The Secret Book Of The Ghostigmatah Rites.
Yasmine Hamdan - Shadia Ψ΄Ψ§Ψ―ΩΨ©
Yasmine Hamdan is a Lebanese musician and producer from Beirut, known in the 90s as a member of the duo Soapkills, who has been living and working in Paris for several years. She is a pioneer of Arabic versions of trip hop, dubstep, and pop, combining synth electronics with traditional motifs.
The song "Shadia" from her latest album, I Remember, I Forget, released at the end of September, features distinct beats and is inspired by Nubian music. A rhythmic groove pop ballad, bittersweet, where the beat does not dominate but supports a soft sensuality.
Tame Impala - My Old Ways
Tame Impala is a project by Kevin Parker, an Australian multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer, whom I have mentioned several times in #newtunes. The least I can say is that he is very famous and listened to in the modern era (one of his hit songs, The Less I Know The Better, has over two billion streams on Spotify), and each of his releases attracts a lot of attention.
He recently released his latest, fifth album, Deadbeat, in which he moves from disco-like funk nostalgia towards electronica and techno. I don't know how old fans will react to this, but younger ones will definitely like it.
The Prodigy - Firestarter (Mississippi Delta Blues Cover)
Last time I mentioned that AI is becoming important in music creation, and for today's last song, I chose a style that is flooding YouTube. I don't even know how to define it. Basically, music enthusiasts are reworking/recycling? old hits and putting them in a completely different context. This week, I saw a reworking of the techno hit Firestarter in the form of Mississippi Delta Blues.
I know that music purists and luddites are crossing their fingers and banging their heads, but I can't help them :)
πΆ That should be all for today, thanks for your attention, and enjoy your Halloween with new songs!
