Dirty Sound Magnet - Power of This Song
We'll start with a look back at last week. Dirty Sound Magnet is a Swiss rock trio from Fribourg that has been playing since 2008. They became known for their unique style, a mix of progressive rock, blues, and psychedelic elements.
The song 'Power Of This Song' is the third single from their fourth studio album, Me and My Shadow, which will be released at the end of January 2026. They released it, as you can see in the video, on Halloween night. Classic, high-octane rock with zombie aesthetics.
Gorillaz - The God of Lying ft. IDLES
Gorillaz, Damon Albarn's virtual band, have announced a new album, The Mountain, for March next year. The third single from the album, The God of Lying, was released yesterday. Idles' frontman John Talbot provides vocals.
Perfect for fans of the band.
Algernon Cadwallader - Koyaanisqatsi
Algernon Cadwallader is an American band from Pennsylvania. They formed in 2005 and were active until 2012. Then they took a break and reappeared in 2022. Music critics consider them heroes of emo and math rock (citation from Stereogum).
After 14 years, they released their fourth album, Trying Not to Have a Thought. The sound is as expected, picking up where they left off.
The song 'Koyaanisqatsi' caught my attention as it's closely linked to the acclaimed documentary. The music draws inspiration from the film's critique of contemporary society and industrialization.
Sorry - Love Posture
Sorry is a British alternative indie rock band from London, formed in 2017. They have released three albums to date, the latest being Cosplay, released today. They have captured the public's interest with their mix of dreamy pop, noise rock, and psychedelic elements, often featuring patterns and changing rhythms.
The song Love Posture from their latest album is a groove with hypnotic bass, raw guitar riffs, and dreamy vocals. It explores identity and illusions from the past that help us survive in digital reality.
Machine Girl - Rabbit Season
Machine Girl is an American band from New York. Formed in 2012, they have released several EPs and seven albums to date. Their latest, PsychoWarrior: MG Ultra X, came out two weeks ago. They deal with experimental electronica and mix it with metal and drone.
From the distortions and mutations of noise rock, nightcore EBM, techno, and punk hardcore, as well as other subsets of noisy microgenres, they attempt to create some melody and order. You can judge for yourself whether they have succeeded.
Insecure Men - Alien
Insecure Men is a London indie rock band. A new name for me. Founded in 2016, they have released two albums so far, the latest, A Man for All Seasons, a few days ago. Their sound is an eccentric mix of lounge, psychedelic pop, chanson, and noise rock. Someone said it was like Serge Gainsbourg meeting Nick Cave in a pub. Well, they are more reminiscent of the early Velvet Underground, with vintage guitars and soft vocals, and occasional 60s psychedelic tension.
Witch Fever - BURN TO HIT
Witch Fever is a British band from Manchester, formed in 2019. A new name for me. They have released two albums so far, the latest, Fevereaten, at the end of October this year. They have attracted listeners with their mix of post-punk, doom, and metal, drawing on ambient and hardcore influences, as well as lyrics about growing up in a Christian environment and mental health.
The song 'Burn To Hit' is a single from their latest album, sounding like nu metal with a touch of chaotic grunge and lyrics exploring religious trauma and questions about one's own body.
Marcin - Proving I'm Not Fake (Once And For All) | HOW MUSIC WORKS
Finally, something truly exceptional. Marcin Patrzalek, or Marcin, is a Polish guitarist, composer, and producer from Jastrowie. He is a new artist for me (kudos to @thealliance). A virtuoso on the guitar and, at just 24 years old, a global sensation with his innovative, percussive guitar technique that combines classical music, rock, blues, flamenco, and modern electronic elements.
He became internationally known in 2017 when he appeared on America's Got Talent and reached the semifinals with his cover of Metallica's Nothing Else Matters. And from then on, everything was open to him.
Watch the video and you'll understand immediately!
š¶ That should be all for today, thanks for your attention, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

As always, we appreciate you bringing us selections like these that remind us of iconic bands and introduce us to new ones.
It reminded me of Marcin Patrzalek's performance on America's Got Talent. I'd seen him perform there before, but I didn't know he'd continued this successful career.
Thanks for the music!
Yes, I checked his performance, also I get deeper :)
