New Tunes 4.7.2025
Hello music friends! 🎶
It's a very hot Friday today, and the heatwave continues. I'll cool down with a selection of fresh #newtunes music.
New names today, I've deliberately chosen only musicians I don't know (yet). Some may manage to climb to the top, while others may not.
You can hear popular music everywhere, but not this selection. Only here, on the Hive blockchain :)
Eight songs of different genres. Lesser-known musicians with their new songs. If you have time and want a refresher, consider supporting them by listening. And if something catches your attention, you will certainly dig deeper.
If you don't like something, skip it.

Laura Stevenson - Can I Fly for Free?
Laura Stevenson is a musician and composer from Long Island, New York. She is also known as the keyboardist of the music collective Bomb the Music Industry!.
She has been performing since 2009 and has released seven albums to date. Her latest, Late Great, was released last week.
The song Can I Fly for Free? is a pleasant alt-country number.
Ringlets - Posh Girl Holds a Whip
Ringlets come from New Zealand. Their second album, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time For Walkies), was released last week.
Musically, they are situated somewhere between new wave and punk, yet they sound remarkably fresh.
Black Sites - C4
Black Sites is a project by two techno and electronic music producers, Helene Hauff and Kris Jakob, under the auspices of the legendary Berlin-based label Tresor Records.
After ten years of collaboration, they released their debut album, R4, last week. Recorded directly to tape with minimal post-production. Experimental electronic music, very modern and trendy, I can even hear a bit of Brian Eno in these sounds.
Billiam – Sylvie S Goes To Hawaii
Billiam is an egg punk band from Melbourne, Australia. I've seen another older English punk band with that name, but this one is relatively new, having formed in 2020, so it's another post-COVID band.
Sylvie S. Goes to Hawaii is their new EP, released last week.
Egg punk is, you know, what you hear :)
Force Model - All Expectations
Force Model is a trio hailing from California, specifically the concrete jungles of Los Angeles. Their debut, the five-track EP Barricade, was released in June. You can download it for free (name your price).
Power rock, sound production, interesting transitions, and singable vocals.
Catu Diosis - Three Queens
Catu Diosis is a choreographer, MC, and producer, recording for the Ugandan avant-garde label Hakuna Kulala in Kampala. Here is her first album, Anyim, released in June of this year.
An interesting genre blend of mutant afrobeat and minimal techno, which East Africans dance to in clubs within the electronic underground. I'm sure the girl has a lot more to say in this direction, so I'll keep following her.
BLACK HELIUM - Up On A Hill
Black Helium is a trio from London, formed in 2017, and has released four albums to date, the latest, Animals Are Coming, just two weeks ago. A new name for me.
Modern psychedelic rock with a stoner rhythm that quickly catches the ear and will undoubtedly be of interest to fans of this genre.
Tropical Fuck Storm - Dunning Kruger's Loser Cruiser
Tropical Fuck Storm or TFS (they have to disguise the middle word if they want to reach the masses) is an Australian band from Melbourne. They have been performing since 2017 and have released four albums so far. The latest, Fairyland Codex, was released last week. Highly provocative, artistic music, dissonant guitars, unpredictable rhythms, and intense vocal performances have been the band's hallmark since the beginning.
Dunning-Kruger's Loser Cruiser is, of course, about the absurdities and delusions of human self-confidence. I recommend the whole album.
🎶That's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

I like the variety of tunes here! !BBH
That's good to hear :)
I like the way you explore music. I leave it to random playlist and dive deep if something caught my ears.
That's a good way to explore something new, too.
Music is life! Let’s rock and roll
