Stereolab - Constant and Uniform Movement Unknown

We'll start with Stereolab, an Anglo-French group formed in 1990. Known for their distinctive avant-pop sound, influenced by krautrock and jazz, and incorporating surrealist philosophy in their lyrics, they have released eleven albums to date, the latest being Instant Holograms on Metal Film, released in May of this year.
The song 'Constant and Uniform Movement Unknown' is a new single, released yesterday, and is not yet on any album.

Crippling Alcoholism - LADIES' NIGHT

Crippling Alcoholism is an American band from Boston, active since 2021. New name for me. A specific sound that is difficult to compare with anything we have heard before or to place in a genre.
They may be closest to a mix of dark pop and post-rock, but that's my guess. They have released three albums so far; the latest is Camgirl, released three weeks ago. The song 'Ladies Night' is from this album.

Adam Ben Ezra ft. Michael Olivera - Free Fly - Live in London

This recording, from January of this year, is a bit older. Still, I had to add it to #newtunes (I watched it a few days ago) mainly because of the superb improvisation of two exceptional musicians: Israeli double bassist and composer Adam Ben Ezra and Cuban drummer, composer, and producer Michael Oliver.
A performance in London and a living example of how just two instruments, double bass and drums, are enough for a rich and superb sound and performance of the fantastic song Free Fly from the album Heavy Drops, which was released in December last year.

YS :: Burn

YS is a duo based in Berlin, Germany, since 2020. They have released two albums so far, the latest being their self-titled track, released this September. As usual, whenever Berlin is mentioned, electronic music of all possible genres and influences is mentioned. YS is no exception here; they are more oriented towards soundscapes and dark, underground worlds than dance music. Burn is ambient, psychotic, strictly controlled, and produced in downtempo.

SPRINTS - Need

Sprints are fresh Irish garage punks from Dublin, last year they released their first album Feast, which was voted one of the best albums of the year in the punk genre, and now we have their second album, All That Is Over, with the single Need. And I like it. I'll follow them to see if they're really a band worth paying attention to. Will they succeed? We'll see.

Fake Palindromes (Orchestral Version) with Nu Deco Ensemble

Andrew Bird is a slightly eccentric American violinist, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and composer. He has been creating music since 1992 and has released 16 studio albums to date. I have mentioned him several times in #newtunes.
In the second half of October, he will reissue his 2005 album, Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production Of Eggs, which will include the previously unreleased song "Fake Palindromes," an orchestral version of which can now be heard, performed together with the Nu Deco Ensemble.
It's wildly swing, suitable for everyone, not just fans of the style.

Suede - Trance State

Suede is an English rock band from London, formed in 1989. They have released ten studio albums, mainly in the style of glam rock and Britpop. Their latest album, Antidepressants, released in early September, takes the post-rock direction even further.
The song Trance State is very melodic and could easily become a hit. Of course, this is just my opinion.

HEALTH :: VIBE COP

Health, a band from Los Angeles, is new to me. They've been playing since 2005, and they've released five studio albums and four remix albums. A unique style that combines elements of black metal, industrial rock, and electro-pop. In December, they announced a new, sixth album, Conflict DLC, featuring the song 'Vibe Cop,' a blend of black metal and the Pet Shop Boys, which seems to me.

๐ŸŽถThat's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

Nice finds! Crippling Alcoholism is new to me completely, but I really liked their sound. I'll have to check them out some more. I also hadn't heard of Health, I love the guitar and the beat, some great death metal. The vocals are kind of odd though, it felt like it needed something rougher, but maybe that's just me!

Adam Ben Ezra was really cool, I liked it a lot as I did the Fake Palindromes. Sprints does sound promising, I liked their sound in that song. it's some great punk. Hopefully their other songs are as good!

I thoroughly enjoyed your selections of the day, well done!

Who makes sure the headphones stay firmly on your ears? Adam Ben Ezra!
Why Andrew Bird suddenly needs an orchestra for his palindromes remains a mystery to me, at least. The song was good before. But the lyrics are open to debate.

I use headphones very rarely. Bird is an eccentric and likes to change old things. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
