OblΓ© Reed - AIM-HI

OblΓ© Reed comes from Seattle, the capital of grunge, but he has nothing to do with that musical style. Unlike the aforementioned dark genre, the rapper, beatmaker, hip-hop artist, and producer is open and even positive. He has released two albums so far, the latest being Line Readers, which came out at the end of June.
His relaxed attitude and the fact that he does not come from the streets influence everything he does.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Castrator - Fragments of Defiance

Castrator is an American band from New York, formed in 2013, which released its second album, Coronation of the Grotesque, a week ago. Four girls with considerable experience in death metal, who trained in various black and death metal bands, build on the legacy of old-school American death metal. A tour de force of growling vocals, razor-sharp guitar riffs, and dynamic, repetitive drums.
Fans of the genre say it's very fresh, raw, and brutal.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Wombo - Danger in Fives

Wombo is a trio from Louisville, USA, performing since 2014. They have released several EPs and three albums, the latest being Danger in Fives, released two weeks ago. Indie, melancholic post-punk with unusual harmonies, introverted lyrics, and sonically diverse guitars accompanied by a uniform and stable rhythm creates an abstract atmosphere that offers no solutions or answers, only nostalgia.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Osees - Sneaker

Osees is a Californian band from Los Angeles with a rich history. They have been creating explosive psych-punk rock 'n' roll since 1997. Hyperproductive, they experiment with different styles and genres of guitar music and always try to compose and produce the best album possible. To date, they have released twenty-nine albums, the latest of which, Abdomination Revealed At Last, came out just under two weeks ago. Unlike their previous albums, which focused primarily and exclusively on music, their latest release is more socially engaged. They do not shy away from criticizing war, genocide, racism, apathy, and the like. It angers me too, but what can I do?
The song Sneaker reminds me of Devo at times.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Editrix - The Big E

Editrix is a trio from New York that has been playing experimental rock since its inception in 2019. To date, they have released two EPs and three albums, the latest being The Big E, released at the end of July this year. A mixture of everything from math and progressive rock to noise and doom, they can be classified primarily as underground and avant-garde, and, as already mentioned, experimental.
In the song of the same name, they experiment both sonically and visually. They are primarily concerned with the letter E :)

🎡 🎧 🎡

bar italia - Fundraiser

I have mentioned the London trio 'bar italia' several times over the past few years because they are on my radar :)
They play very solid post-punk, have released three albums so far, and with the song Fundraiser they are announcing their new album, Some Like It Hot, which will be released on October 17 this year. The album's name is taken from the 1959 cult comedy starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis, and Jack Lemmon. Whether the album has anything else in common with the film besides its name remains to be seen.

🎡 🎧 🎡

The Temper Trap - Lucky Dimes

The Temper Trap is an Australian indie rock band formed in 2005. They have released three albums, the latest being Thick As Thieves in 2016. Their first and second albums went gold and platinum in Australia and the UK and won several music awards.
The song Lucky Dimes is their first single in nine years. It is ear-friendly pop-ish rock with occasional sharp guitars. I have not seen any indication that this is a preview of a new album.

🎡 🎧 🎡

Robert Plant - Everybody's Song

Finally, another Zeppelin, Robert Plant, who is still active at the age of 77, has been collaborating with well-known female singers in recent years, turning almost every song into a big hit.
At the end of September, his twelfth solo studio album, Saving Grace, will be released. I was drawn to his cover of the song "Everybody's Song" by the band Low, which was active from 1993 to 2022, until the death of the drummer.
I won't say that the cover is better. Still, Plant's interpretation gives it a certain mystique and timelessness, elevating Low to a higher level, and the band deserves that. You can listen to it and compare here.

🎢That's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

I'm glad you like them, because they're not very popular bands, but they have their own sound, which I respect.

To my own surprise, I'm stuck on "bar italia ", although I'm still waiting for Dave Davis to come out of the background at any moment. Robert Plant - the inspiring moment that captivates you is missing here.

Which Dave Davis? There are quite a few of them. 😎
Robert Plant has revived a nice Low's song from oblivion.

The focus here is on Ray Davis' brother. Also known as the most brilliant band of all time - The Kinks!

Ok. But why... most brilliant of all time? πŸ€”

Incredibly good, socially critical lyrics, and the band members regularly got into such fights at concerts that their American tour even had to be cancelled. In comparison, the Gallagher brothers are pure kindergarten.

Ok. I listened to them a lot but never in the first plane.
