Devo - Fresh
Devo is an American new wave/synth-pop band from Akron that has been active in the music scene since 1973. Older music lovers will certainly remember them for their electronic satire and cynicism, especially for their claim that humanity is evolving backwards rather than forwards.
I remember them for their cover of the Rolling Stones' hit I Can't Get No Satisfaction.
They have been very active again in recent years, as evidenced by their remake of the song Fresh, which was released as a single in 1999 and has now been re-released to coincide with a documentary about the band and their 50th anniversary.
Juana Molina - Desinhumano
Juana Rosario Molina VillafaΓ±e, or Juana Molina for short, is an Argentine singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress from Buenos Aires. Her music blends folktronica, experimental pop, and neo-psychedelia. Music critics also call her the queen of Latin chill music. She has released eight albums to date, the latest, Doga, last week after an eight-year hiatus.
The song Desihumano is a dreamy, spiritual melody, featuring guitar, bass, percussion, and melancholic rhythms.
Rian Treanor & Cara Tolmie - Incongruous Diva
Rian Treanor & Cara Tolmie are artists from the UK. On their latest album, Body Lapse, released in September this year, they explore experimental electronica and the boundaries between music, speech, body, and technology.
The track Oncogruos Diva is a critique of the opera figure through rhythmic glitch, deconstruction, and noise, tense, uncomfortable, and hypnotic.
Kula Shaker - Be Merciful
I've mentioned the UK band Kula Shaker a few times recently in #newtunes. Formed in 1995, during the Britpop era, they added psychedelic elements and Sanskrit mantras to their songs and performances. It seems that they have only gained recognition in recent years.
The song Be Merciful is already the third single announcing the new album Wormslayer, which will be released in January 2026. A psychedelic sound of the sixties with raga elements, a plea for mercy and trust.
Good Flying Birds - Down on Me
Good Flying Birds is an American band from Indianapolis, formed in 2023, which, in just two years, has attracted the attention of music critics and achieved cult status in the underground scene. Their music is lo-fi indie guitar post-rock, full of guitar fuzz and nostalgia.
The song 'Down On Me' opens their debut album, Talulah's Tape, a collection of demo recordings released last week. Lo-fi indie pop with overlapping vocals, a sense of lightness, and melancholy.
Fat White Family - Hits Hits Hits
Fat White Family is a London, UK-based band formed in 2011. They have released four albums to date. They are known for their provocative, dark lyrics that address addiction, social criticism, absurd hedonism, and bitter humor. Their sound is a mixture of garage, krautrock, dub, and psychedelic elements.
The song Hits Hits Hits is a preview of the live album Konk If You're Lonely, which will be released in December this year.
MADMADMAD - Run
Mad Mad Mad is a British trio from Tottenham, London, formed in 2020. Electronic post-punk funk with improvisations and unpredictable live performances, a mixture of punk and electronic chaos. They have released several EPs, the latest being RUN in October this year.
The song Run is from the EP of the same name, minimalist trippy mutant disco dadaism, created from home samples with an emphasis on constant movement.
T. Rex - Billy Super Duper (Take 2)
This week, I didn't come across anything interesting or noteworthy from the music world, which is now also being created by AI.
However, I did find something old from 1975, namely an unreleased studio version of the song Billy Super Duper (Take 2) by the legendary band T. Rex, pioneers of glam rock, recorded at Musicland Studios in Munich. Groovy bass, sparkling guitars, and the charming vocals of the late leader, Marc Bolan, prove once again (at least to me) that the popular music of that time, even though it was not intended for release, easily surpasses today's production.
πΆ That should be all for today, thanks for your attention, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

Wow!
I was so glad you reminded me of Devo! I hadn't listened to them in years!
As always, you've brought us a great selection to rediscover new melodies, and that's much appreciated!
Hugs!
Thanks. Devo is back in the spotlight, probably due to the documentary movie and the band's 50th anniversary. πΆ
Love you mentioned two of my favourite bands Kula shaker and T rex β€οΈβ€οΈ
Thanks. Yeah, Kula Shaker is rising these days, and T.Rex is a legend! πΆ
