Hello, music lovers! 🎶

It's Friday again, and the weekend is upon us! We'll brighten your day with a new selection of #newtunes!

Before the end of the year, well-known and lesser-known musicians present their latest works. If you have a few minutes, give them a listen.
If you don't like something, skip it!

The National - Lit Up (Live In Rome)

The National, the American indie band that has been successfully navigating the music scene since 1999 (with quite a few awards for musical achievements), has today announced the release of its seventh live album, Rome. It was recorded in June this year at a concert (just where?). I still like its sound, which is why I mentioned it.
The song Lit Up is a hit from their third album, Alligator, from 2005.

🎵 🎧 🎵

The Pineapple Thief - All Because of Me

The Pineapple Thief is an English rock band active for 25 years. They have produced 16 studio albums and 6 EPs, as well as live recordings and collaborations. Their progressive rock requires a certain technical virtuosity, which they certainly have. They are underrated in terms of their work.
The song "All Because of Me" is from their latest EP, Last To Run. It is an excellent collection of full-blooded progressive rock in five songs. It has a complex structure, melodic instrumental parts, and precisely maintained syncopated rhythms (the drummer is ex-Porcupine Tree and King Crimson).
I recommend the whole EP.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Peter Perrett - Disinfectant

Peter Perrett, probably better known as the frontman of The Only Ones, the band that had the global power pop hit Another Girl, Another Planet back in 1978, has emerged from the underworld of addiction again after 2017 with a double album, Cleansing.
I would have thought this was unreleased Lou Reed and Velvets material if I hadn't heard a London accent. It may have too many songs, but it's still excellent.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Dazy - I GET LOST (when i try to get found)

James Woodson, aka Dazy, is a young musician from Richmond, Virginia. He has been making guitar and power pop rock since 2020. Last week, he released a new three-song EP with the same title as the showcase song. I added it because the tracks are short, catchy, and energetic, reminding me a little of Beck.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Snoop Dogg - Gorgeous (feat. Jhené Aiko)

Snoop Dog or Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., an American rapper, actor, and producer, today released a new album, Missionary, his 20th in a row. As usual, it was produced by Dr. Dre. But after the music, he goes back to his early years. Or so they say.
The song Gorgeous, in which Jhené Aiko accompanies him on vocals, is both the album opener and the trailer. It's been out for about a month and has already had more than 1.5 million views. There are enough fans.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Saint Etienne - Half Light

Saint Etienne is an English trio that released its twelfth album, The Night, today. The album continues the trio's in-depth storytelling, especially about the chaos of everyday life, and offers serenity through layered sounds that touch the listener's intimacy.
The song Half Light is mainly about nature, the last rays of the sun before night, and the magical experience of doing so.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Mojo & The Kitchen Brothers - Trail of the Space Sasquatch

Mojo & The Kitchen Brothers is a young five-piece Belgian band that music critics are already noticing. Yesterday, they released their highly anticipated second album, Into the Centre of the Cat's Eye Nebula. In it, they continue exploring the psychedelic guitar sounds of the 1960s. The song Trail of the Space Sasquatch also uses this style.

🎵 🎧 🎵

Black Dregs - Pilgrimage to Hydrargyrum

Black Dregs is a French band from Lyon formed in 2021. They sail the death/sludge metal waters and label their albums with Roman numerals. They are currently at number IV.
In its original version, death metal will be interesting to fans of the genre.

🎶That's all for today, and enjoy your weekend with new songs!

While last week's jazz releases were the most exciting for me, this week it's the rockers who, although there are significant differences, are all worth going to see live in concert.
The National, even though they are often very close to the sound of The Killers, always revitalise my ears.👍🏻
The same goes for Peter Perrett, who flirts with Lou Reed but still has his own style. Watching the video, I feared for a moment that Johnny Winter had changed genders.😮
While I particularly like the title of Dazy's song, as it reminds me of my own disorientation, I was completely enthralled by Pineapple Thief. It should be noted, however, that I've always liked these guys.🤘🏻👍🏻
Snoop is too American for me and the arrangement can hardly be topped in terms of boredom.🥱

You've hit it. I wasn't sure which gender the blonde was either, but, yeah, Johnny Winters might have something to do with it. 👍
