Unexpected Covers - Three Tune Tuesday
Hail to the Hive!
Ok it's Tuesday once more and that means time for Three Tune Tuesday inspired by @ablaze and this week I've decided to go for some , shall we say, unexpected covers ( as in the title, bit of a giveaway really).
So first up one of my all time fave bands 'Bad Brains' the Rastafarian Punk Rockers with the occasional reggae influence. In this instance they are doing a cover of The Beatles ' Day Tripper' and it works beautifully. As a side note I actually did take Sir Paul McCartney scuba diving in Zanzibar many years ago and told him face to face this was my favourite version of their song, no offence meant or takenas it happens

I always try and include a Motorhead track whenever possible and their rendition of a Rolling Stones classic has always made me smile and was on my playlist at the Dive Shop Bar I used to have in the Philippines. I was a bit strict with tunes in the dive shop bar and was often complimented for providing an musical oasis in what was a karaoke, power ballad ,air supply, cleline dion wasteland of musical shite. ughhhh Anyway I digress here's Motorhead doing something a little out of their ordinary
And to finish up my trio of covers this week I've gone for FAith No More's amazing cover of Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' and I have to say I've gone heavily down the early 90's rock rabbit hole of late since I started doing the #TTT and it's never failed to lift my spirits and so I can only hope it does the same for you....

Buffering madly because loadshedding and dodgy connection but you already have my vote because you had a dive shop in the Philippines and you don't support Celine Dion.
Also... the bass of the first track is outstanding.

I was gonna say Motorhead with Mick's voice originally and may stick to that... but then Lemmy took off during the crescendo and boom!

Angel dust is a very underrated album but still stands up today. Takes me back to 92 and makes me smile
I love it when cover songs appear in unexpected places (as long as it's not muzac). I agree that the Bad Brains version is pretty good! Liked to hear the Stone's She's a Rainbow in there, too.
Have you ever had a listen to April Wine's I Like to Rock? The end of the song calls both Day Tripper and Satisfaction.
Ha ha, cool story, how did he react!! Probably laughed or smiled about. In all fairness it's a great version like.
Nicely finished out set with Faith No More, jesus I have not listened to these guys in the longest time, that was really enjoyable.
He was a pretty cool guy to chat to about anything really. He was on the little island I worked at for 2 weeks and I got to chat quite a bit to him and share a few beers.
That's pretty damn cool now I must say, always nice to hear about famous people being down to earth and nice and friendly..
