Music Competition Vibes Web 3 Week 39 "The Circle Game" Cover by @sayury

Un gran saludo a toda la comunidad de mùsicos que hacen vida virtual en Vibes. La temàtica de esta semana se presta para compartir tesoros musicales recientes, màs o menos lejanos y también antiguos. Por mi parte, apenas leì que participarìamos cantando temas musicales de pelìculas pensè en las canciones de "Sound of Music", al continuar leyendo y ver que debido a que ya una vez la temàtica fueron canciones de Disney, esta vez no lo serìan, estuve dudando entre varios temas, ya iba ganando "Melodìa desencadenada" de la hermosa pelìcula "Ghost" (La sombra de un amor) aunque con una fuerte competencia de parte del tema de "Love Story" cuando recordè el film "Las fresas de la amargura" y esa impactante canciòn super pegajosa "The circle game" que originalmente fue una balada
super lenta que interpretò Joni Mitchel y luego, para ser tema de la pelìcula en cuestión le agregaron más "sabor" y con un ritmo más rápido y ciertos cambios quedó espectacular.

La pelìcula "Las fresas de la amargura" o "Fresas y sangre" cuenta la historia de un grupo de estudiantes izquierdistas que, en la dècada de los sesenta, se efrenta al orden establecido primero y finalmente a la ley. Es una versión libre del libro del mismo nombre que narra - a su modo - las revueltas estudiantiles que ocurrieron en 1968 en la Universidad de Columbia, USA.
Esta película no se puede decir que fuera exitosa, aunque recibió el Premio del Jurado en el Festival de Cannes de 1970 y, al menos acá en Venezuela, fue muy taquillera.

A big hello to the entire community of musicians who make a virtual life at Vibes. This week's theme lends itself to sharing recent, more or less distant, and even older musical treasures. For my part, as soon as I read that we would participate singing movie theme songs I thought about the songs from "Sound of Music", as I continued reading and saw that since the theme was Disney songs once before, this time it wouldn't be, I was hesitating between several songs, "Unchained Melody" from the beautiful movie "Ghost" was already winning although with strong competition from the "Love Story" theme when I remembered the film "Strawberries of Bitterness" and that shocking super catchy song "The Circle Game" which was originally a super slow ballad performed by Joni Mitchell and then, to be the theme of the movie in question they added more "flavor" and a faster rhythm fast and certain changes were spectacular.

The film "Strawberries of Bitterness" or "Strawberries and Blood" tells the story of a group of leftist students who, in the 1960s, confront first the established order and finally the law. It is a loose retelling of the book of the same name, which narrates—in its own way—the student uprisings that occurred in 1968 at Columbia University, USA.
This film cannot be said to have been a success, although it received the Jury Prize at the 1970 Cannes Film Festival and, at least here in Venezuela, was a box office success.
