La temática propuesta para esta semana es "Renovación". Si nos vamos directamente a la definición que de dicha palabra nos da el diccionario de la RAE (Real Academia de la Lengua Española) institución fundada en Madrid (Epaña) en el año 1713, bajo el reinado de Felipe V y que desde sus inicios,se ha dedicado a preservar el buen uso y la unidad de una lengua en permanente evolución y expansión, (Información tomada de acá: Hacer como de nuevo algo, o volverlo a su primer estado..

Leer esto y que nuestra mente recuerde de inmediato la conversación entre nuestro Señor Jesucristo y Nicodemo es algo automático. Y es que cuando ese hombre importante entre los judíos se acercó a Jesús - de noche, a lo oculto, temeroso del qué dirán - iba con una gran inquietud en su alma y la esperanza de que Jesús daría respuesta cierta a sus interrogantes.
Nicodemo era un fariseo... es decir, pertenecía a una secta del judaismo. Una secta muy estricta en la que se enconraban individuos que deseaban de corazón obedecer los mandamientos de Dios y se diferenciaban de la secta de los saduceos - entre otras cosas - porque los fariseos creían en la resurrección y los saduceos no. Como en toda organización humana habia allí personas íntegras, que creían de corazón las enseñanzas que también predicaban y quienes estando dentro no creían en nada pero simulaban creer para recibir algún beneficio. Este hecho deplorable pero muy humano es recurrente en toda organización humana, sea esta religiosa, cultural, política o de otro género. Siempre hay el que está allí de corazón y el que está allí por interés y cuya conducta, en desacuerdo total con lo que predica, daña la reputación de todos.
Bueno, lo cierto es que este fariseo , que dice la Biblia que era " un principal entre los judíos" llegó con la inquietud de saber cómo podía ver el Reino de Dios. Pero no preguntó esto al Señor, comenzó un largo saludo con rodeos, saludo que nuestro Señor cortó respondiendo enseguida a la inquietud que Nicodemo llevaba en su corazón y diciéndole que para ver el Reino de Dios es necesario "Nacer de nuevo", es decir "Renovarse", "Volver a su primer estado". Nicodemo acepto esto aunque no lo entendía, pero preguntó cómo lograrlo: "¿Cómo puede un hombre nacer siendo viejo? " y la larga respuesta que da Jesús a esta pregunta se puede resumir en una de sus frases: "es necesario que el Hijo del Hombre sea levantado, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna." (Porque "ver el Reino de Dios" y "tener vida eterna" es lo mismo), y tener vida eterna es tener una nueva vida, es ser "renacido", es ser "renovado"..

Cuando ponemos nuestra vida en manos de Dios, es Él quien con la acción del Espíritu Santo, por nuestra fe en el sacrificio de su Hijo, nos renueva, nos hace nuevos. Pero para hacernos nuevos nos debe transformar, cambiar. Entonces somos arcilla en sus manos y Él el alfarero que nos va moldeando poco a poco mediante cada acontecimiento en nuestras vidas y de acuerdo a nuestra entrega a Él y reconocerle y darle la preeminencia en cada cosa que vivimos y en cada suceso que nos ocurre.

La canción que traigo para compartir con ustedes la compuse hace alrededor de 40 años. En esa época me encontraba en Argentina y estudiaba Teologia en el Instituto Lumen Christi en la ciudad de Córdoba, estudio que debí interrumpir par regresar a Venezuela porque me enferme por el cambio de clima, no logré adaptarme fisicamente a los cambios de temperatura originadospor las cuatro estaciones ya que en Venezuela, mi país de origen y en el cual vivo, tenemos solo dos estaciones: una seca y otra lluviosa, cad una dura seis meses, pero no tiene puntos extremos de temperatura ni en cuanto al calor, ni en cuanto al frío, ni en cuanto a la humedad en el ambiente, en la región dela que procedo que es caracas, en el Distrito Capital. Pero... esa est otra historia. En esa época, hubo un momento en que me planteé muchas cosas para llegar siempre a la misma conclusión: No nos compete más que soltarnos como arcilla en Sus manos y aceptar los procesos que Él guía en nuestras vidas mediante los acontecimientos. No nos compete más que reconocer que somos nada y colocar esa nada en sus manos para que Él nos forme, nos cambie, nos renueve, según Su voluntad.

We have reached week #36 of this beautiful initiative in which for various reasons I have not been able to participate as many times as I would like but it always gives me great satisfaction to be able to do so and listen to at least some of the other participants' songs, very pleasant moments. on a musical level and enriching on a spiritual level.


To say "week 36" is to know that we are only 16 weeks - 4 months - away from the first year of this beautiful initiative where we are united by the desire to dedicate a moment of adoration and praise to our Creator and Father of all.


The proposed theme for this week is "Renewal". A very strict sect in which there were individuals who heartily desired to obey the commandments of God and differed from the sect of the Sadducees - among other things - because the Pharisees believed in the resurrection and the Sadducees did not. As in every human organization, there were upright people there, who wholeheartedly believed the teachings they also preached and those who, being inside, did not believe in anything but pretended to believe in order to receive some benefit. This deplorable but very human fact is recurrent in every human organization, be it religious, cultural, political or of any other kind. There is always those who are there from the heart and those who are there out of interest and whose behavior, in total disagreement with what they preach, damages everyone's reputation.
Well, the truth is that this Pharisee, who the Bible says was "a leader among the Jews" came with the concern of knowing how he could see the Kingdom of God. But he did not ask the Lord this, he began a long roundabout greeting, a greeting that our Lord cut short by immediately responding to the concern that Nicodemus carried in his heart and telling him that to see the Kingdom of God it is necessary to be "Born again", that is to say " Renew yourself", "Return to your first state". Nicodemus accepted this although he did not understand it, but he asked how to achieve it: "How can a man be born when he is old?" and the long answer that Jesus gives to this question can be summarized in one of his phrases: "it is necessary that the Son of May he be raised up as a man, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." (Because "seeing the Kingdom of God" and "having eternal life" are the same), and having eternal life is having a new life, it is being "reborn", it is being "renewed"..

When we put our lives in the hands of God, it is He who, with the action of the Holy Spirit, through our faith in the sacrifice of his Son, renews us, makes us new. But to make us new it must transform us, change. So we are clay in His hands and He is the potter who shapes us little by little through each event in our lives and according to our dedication to Him and recognize Him and give Him preeminence in everything we experience and in every event that happens to us.

The song I bring to share with you I composed it around 40 years ago. Our only responsibility is to recognize that we are nothing and place that nothingness in His hands so that He can form us, change us, renew us, according to His will.
