En esa época, acá en Venezuela solo podían estudiar Teología los varones. Las mujeres no. Me refiero a la Teología de mi iglesia que es la Católica. En el caso de los hermanos de la iglesia evangélica, ellos sí tenían esa posibilidad. Una de mis hermanas se graduó de Teología en el Instituto Bíblico Central, ubicado en Barquisimeto, después de tres años de estudios por el sistema de internado y para esa época yo apenas contaría unos ocho o nueve años.
Cuando yo la estudié tenía 26, pero, en nuestra iglesia católica, las opciones geoográficas para que las damas pudieran estudiar teología en ese entonces eran Argentina, Brasil o Italia. Bien, con el auspicio de la congregación Pias Discípulas del Divino Maestro, e fui para Argentina a estudiarla - hago la salvedad que actualmente la posibilidad de estudiar "Teología para Laicos" acà en Venezuela està abierta tano para los caballeros como para las damas.
La carrera duraba cinco años, pero , por motivos de salud - más bien por falta de ella- , porque no logré adaptarme físicamente a los cambios de estaciones del clima de all`, me vi obligada a regresar cuando solo llevaba tres años de estudio.
Fue en esa época en que escribí esta canciòn dedicada a nuestro Señor Jesucristo, mencionando que Él mismo se nos presentó como "Camino, Verdad y Vida" y queriendo expresar cómo, cuando vamos teniendo una relación cada vez más estrecha con Él, su amor va venciendo nuestras resistencias a la entrega y puede que comencemos negándonos a obedecerle, luego pasamos al deseo de hacerlo y terminamos obedeciéndole, cuando ya su amor nos ha conquistado.
Espero que esta canción les agrade y lleve fruto en su vida espiritual.

In this week 154, in the first round of this cycle of three, I bring for your consideration an original song, lyrics and music of my own inspiration. It is about the song "You have conquered me." I composed it several years ago, several decades, to be more exact, when I was a girl. At that time I was studying Theology at the Lumen Christi Institute in Córdoba, province of Argentina. That was...39 years ago.
At that time, here in Venezuela only men could study Theology. Women don't. I am referring to the Theology of my church, which is the Catholic Church. In the case of the brothers of the evangelical church, they did have that possibility. One of my sisters graduated in Theology at the Central Biblical Institute, located in Barquisimeto, after three years of studies through the boarding school system and at that time I was only about eight or nine years old.
When I studied it I was 26, but, in our Catholic church, the geographical options for ladies to study theology at that time were Argentina, Brazil or Italy. Well, with the sponsorship of the congregation Pias Discipulas del Divino Maestro, I went to Argentina to study it - I make the reservation that currently the possibility of studying "Theology for Laity" here in Venezuela is open to both gentlemen and ladies.
The degree lasted five years, but, for health reasons - rather lack of it -, because I was not able to physically adapt to the seasonal changes in the climate there, I was forced to return when I had only been studying for three years.
