I clarify that Cunaviche is a small town located in the Apure state in Venezuela, but also, the word "cunaviche" itself means the same as "estero": it is an area of ​​the plain that floods and becomes swampy.

Visually it is beautiful when one sees the plain with estuaries (cunaviche) scattered in it.

I have not had the pleasure of contemplating them directly, but speaking with my friend @petronila (the poet Rosana Hernández Pasquier) she tells me that she had the opportunity to see estuaries in the state of Apure and what came to her mind when she saw the effect of the light on them (with a nocturnal beauty very different from the daytime beauty) was to think "They are sapphires."

There is a very beautiful song by Juan Vicente Torrealba titled "Esteros de Camaguán" that I suggest you listen to, also "La Potra Zaina"
by the same author, in which, referring to the filly, it is said:

Regarding the word "stubble", this has been a crop field but at the stage in which everything has already been harvested and has not yet been sown again.

A "caney" is also mentioned in this song. In Venezuela we call "caney" a kind of hut with a roof made of palm leaves but without walls, it only has the sticks or forks that support the roof.

I selected this song, one of my favorites from Alí Primera's extensive repertoire, because it is extremely interesting to observe how it goes beyond spotting a llanero and describing him and his horse but rather leads us to encounter his interior "feeling" inside and with that deep sadness that he disguises with songs and laughter.

Alí Primera (Father of the musician brothers Servando and Florentino Primera) always worked with rebellious, sharp, non-conforming lyrics and composed interesting melodic lines that were very different from one song to another.

Some of his compositions are very urban, others have the countryside landscape as their context, but the protagonist will always be the vulnerable and violated human.
