Here I am again to share another #threetunestuesday playlist for the contest hosted by ablaze and for this week, I would like to share 3 songs from the band Alesana which is one of my all time favorites. Saying that their songs to be a work of art would not be an understatement as most of their songs were based on known literary piece such as Greek Mythology which is made for the modern audience and for the list that I'm about to share, they were under The Emptiness album and was a concept album based from Edgar Allan Poe's Anabel Lee.

The Artist - Alesana

One morning, a man simply known as The Artist wakes up and as soon as he opens his eyes, what he see besides him was the woman of his dreams called Annabel. He tries to wake him up only to find that she was dead, swimming in her own blood. With no memory of the events that transpired, the only conclusion that he came up with was that it was the artist that took his lovers life and this makes him to panic. He was convinced that someone is watching him so in an attempt to remove the evidence of the crime, he buries the body of Annabel and flees to the town.

As the artist wonders aimlessly, he comes to a tavern but the merry atmosphere of the place has only made him jealous and slaughters everyone in the tavern and has turned to be The Murderer.

The Thespian- Alesana

As The Artist, now turned into The Murderer continues to wander aimlessly, the image of Annabel started has started to appear everywhere and makes him to remind of their memories all the way to the time he first fell in love with her. As he reminisces this memories, he then comes up with the idea that she could possibly still be alive and decided to return to their home but he was stopped by a man that introduces himself as the Thespian that claims to be the one who killed Annabel.

With the revelation made by The Thespian, all the hopes of The Artist that Annabel must still be alive all fades. He was filled with rage and want to exact revenge to The Thespian but at the same time, all the power on his knees were lost until he fell to the ground of an abandoned alley but then he once again saw her.

The Lover- Alesana

What appeared in front of him was Annabel but the artist has now become very skeptical whether what he see was real or not but the woman picks him up and takes care of him until he was fully recovered which finally convinced him that it was really his lover and ask forgiveness for the things that he's done but soon, he wakes up to be in the same alley and all those things he experienced was nothing but a dream.

Now fully awake, The Artist pushes on with his plans to take revenge and confronted The Thespian. They have a fight where The Thespian the knife on the back of The Artist who then becomes unconscious. After a while, The Artist regains its consciousness to only see himself to the front of the mirror with Annabel stabbing him.

Annabel then shares her point of view of the events that took place on the video bellow. As The Artist continues to draw his sketches, the images becomes more and more vile showing that he was slowly slipping into insanity and becomes more and more dangerous until one day, insanity has completely took over him. Putting the matter on her hands, she put an end to The Artist once and for all.

But that was actually just the beginning of the story. Alesana continues the story with their album A Place Where Sun is Silent which took its inspiration on Dante Alighieri's The Inferno and ended it with their album Confessions. They also wrote a book based on the Trillogy and titled it with Annabel.

And that was it for this week's #threetunetuesday post. Thank you very much if you made it till the end and you can tell me which song have you liked or was something that you never heard.

See you until next time!
