Sining Sa Hardin: Bulacan Art In The Park Day 3
Happy weekend everyone! I've been trying to make this post for quite a while but due to scheduling reasons, it keeps on getting pushed back. After all, this event takes place more than a month ago already and thanks to the holy week break, I finally find the opportunity to immortalized this memory in the blockchain. Sining sa Hardin was a 3-day event that takes place in Malolos Mini Forest between March 7-9, 2025 where various artist from different parts of Bulacan gather to showcase their work in the public. When I say artist, it wasn't only painters. There are also Sculptors, Photographers, Tattoo artist, bands and other music groups that showcase their skill in their respected fields in this 3 day event. We were only present on the 3rd day so me missed a lot of the music performance but there was still a lot of things to see and enjoy.

We arrived on the venue at 3: 30 of the afternoon. The ground was already dry but earlier there was a drizzle but thanks to that, we were able to freely explore each of the art boots. Some boots that are present only displays their art while some also have their stuff for sale and some boots offers portrait painting on the spot. I was a feast to the eyes to see this many physical arts in one location even for me that doesn't have much knowledge in art.

This is a portrait of the ship BRP Sierra Madre which was transferred to Philippines after the Vietnam War and was docked at the Ayungin Shoal in the Spreatly Island, serving as an outpost to affirm the Philippines exclusive economic zone which as of now we still have an ongoing dispute to China.

This is a traditional jeepney which is one of the main means of public transportation in the Philippines and has become a part of Philippine culture. It originates from Auto Calesas which are vehicles used by Americans. As you can see the exterior of the car was very colorful and eccentric designs which may vary from each jeepney. It has crowded seating specially during rush hours and the way you pay it was through passing the fee from other passengers until it reaches the driver so it takes a lot of trust that the passengers will pay their due.

Due to the crowd starting to pick up, I wasn't able to take as much picture in close aside from this portrait of Apo Whang-Od which is known to be the last "Mambabatok" or traditional Kalinga tattoo that doesn't use modern tattoo machine. You might have hear of her since she has been previously covered by Nas Daily which has been filled with controversy with Nas adding her to be a teacher in the Nas Academy even though they might not have give a consent to it.

Aside from portrait art, there are also a photo exhibit int the event from Focus Bulacan. All the shots taken were really amazing and they also have the Pinagtagpo pero hindi tinadhana which uses bird shots to convey "hugot lines or emotionally laden sayings that explore the themes of love, heartbreak and life's complexities with the use of bird photos. Some of the lines can be though provoking while some I find really cringey.

While taking a look on the different art booths, there are also bands that are performing in the nearby stage. When we first arrived at the venue, the band that was playing on the stage was PAXMCHN with some of their original songs. They were followed by Revisioned which a side project between Frolic Nerve and Finch Band that I know of since they usually performs on the Coffee Shop that I frequent to. They mainly cover Beatles songs and I really like their cover of Let it Be. After that Omanaki plays with their originals songs with two female vocalist.

The stage took a break for a while as the performance was moved in the middle of the mini forest as Daloy Kolectibo perform with Djembe which is a type of drum from Western Africa that is played by bare hands. Here is a video of them playing which I have captured.

Just when they finished their performance, the mural in the background also has been completed. It really looks good and for some reason the yellow color really pops up. Of course we took this opportunity to take some solo pictures in the mural.
Once again, the stage becomes occupied with the alternative rock band Citrus Blend and after that, Daloy kolektibo was back once again with more performance and this time, it was accompanied with dance performance, fire dancing to be more precise. During their performance, there was a point where they grab various people in the audience to dance with them and despite my refusal, my friends have forced me to join them which you can see when you go at the 4:15 of this video.

For the last two performers of the night, there was Perla who mainly covers songs from Yeng Constantino and a Solo Performance by Ferry Balthazar which has collaborated in some of the bands earlier. He is the owner of One roots record which is one of the organizers of the event. He ended the event singing the Sining sa Hardin theme song while the event staff dances into it.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and we got to appreciate art more than even specially with the rise of AI trash all over my social media feed. It also serves as great bonding time between me and my friends and a great initiative to promote our local artist. I hope that next year we can go and see the even once again.
That was it for my post. Thank you and see you again next time.
