Kz Terminators
To date, my favorite kz's were the terminator... Lemme see if i can pull up my soind notes
Songs tested:
Overall (8.5/10)
Overall, the first word that comes to mind with this IEM is "smooth"
id compare this IEM with other KZ iems like a nice wine compared to a shot of vodka. They both get the job done, and sometimes you want that sparkle and rush from the shot, but I really appreciate the laid back-ness these offer.
Distant shores (chris geddes) 8/10
Very crisp and clear. All the instruments come from where they're supposed to. The dynamic range in this track is always fascinating to me, from very quiet snares and clarinet, to middling piccolos and percussion, to booming brass, these headphones faithfully reproduce all of these with ease.
As always, very smooth, very appealing.
Money (pink Floyd) (6.5/10)
The bass at the beginning sounds very slightly anemic. Not bad at all, but not what I'm used to. Vocals are very clear and pleasant, as are drums.
Everything just sounds a tad far back
Time (pink floyd) (8/10)
Very clear. Good layering and imaging. The bells at the beginning never sound muddy or forced. soundstage is only average in width, and very slightly above average in height.
Vocals are slightly recessed, just behind the high hats but in front of the bass and kicks. Still very pleasing.
Antikythera mechanism (BT) (9/10)
Very airy and almost ethereal at the beginning, not super in-your-face like most KZ I've used. Very good level of detail. Very clear separation of instruments. The first drop at around the 3:30 mark has solid impact and depth, it isnt nearly as bright as I'm used to, which I think may be a good thing.
Again, very smooth and never sibilant, and this song tends to push it at times.
Everything feels distinct and never gets muddy, even with multiple sounds at once.
Fire hive (knife party) (5.5/10)
Exceptionally bright, but not quite sibilant. The bass has Very good punch, and has some of that head-rumbling that bassheads tend to like. It is slightly fatiguing on the high hats and and cowbell. Again, not quite sibilant, but not quite pleasant either.
Trip like I do (crystal method) (9/10)
Often the drums can be fatiguing in this song, these headphones tune it back a tad, rendering them as punchy, but slightly more laid back than im used to.
Very nice
They have a big impact, but lack the huge head-rumbling kick you get from bassier IEMS like the original kz ZS5 or Somic V4
Overall, I'm very pleased.
Milosh (infected mushroom) 9.5/10
Immediately rumbly in a very good way. These headphones work very well with this song's heavy use of panning and headspace
Bass kicks are very clean and fast. Maybe a slightly longer decay than im used to. Makes for a wonderfully smooth experience.
