I love having a broad taste in musical genres. I live proud of that. But with Reggaeton I can't, in fact, I don't consider it music. And nothing to do with Reggae !. It's another horrible thing.
Since I have loved dancing so much since I was a child, I have always preferred music with a lot of rhythm. Especially Cuban music. I love troubadours with their poetic songs and Jazz is essential in my life. The R&B that I enjoy is from the 70s and 80s, much more fun for me. I also had my Heavy years, a crazy time of beautiful boys with long hair.
I love roots music, world music and folklore.
I can tell you that I never liked cheesy music, it makes me sick. Anyway...Long live the music!!!!

You're the second person to have mentioned that reggaeton music in a negative way, it must be heinous!
Music is so great because we can relate to so much of it across our lives, leave it behind and come back to something we used to like and it feels comfortable, like an old friend. Having a broad musical interest means we're able to find the most appropriate thing for the occasion and mood we're in. It's pretty cool.
And something that I really like about digital technology is that we can have access to all the music of all time. It's great !!! That's why I can't understand people who only consume trendy music and don't explore new sounds for their minds, bodies and ears.
Yes, 😁Reggaeton is horrible...I dream of a world free of that. It's not just about listening to it one day in passing, it's that it has been the torture that we hear every minute in all places for 20 years. With lyrics full of machismo, absurd consumerism, gangs, crimes, and very poorly written. The Spanish language is diverse and incredibly rich, it is beautiful in metaphors. We have too many beautiful, well-written and poetic songs, there is no need to listen to Reggaeton.

I'm going to have to listen to a reggaeton track (a few seconds of it anyway, to hear how terrible it is. Based on what I know already, I'll hate it. Lol.
