In the past, in small villages far from the big cities of Myanmar, it was difficult to access water due to a shortage of machinery. Villages often had only one well, which the entire community relied upon.

In the evenings, the girls would gather to carry water from the communal well, showcasing their beauty to the young men in the village. Similarly, the boys would express their affection for the girls they admired by assisting them with the water-carrying tasks.
