Mercy over Judgement!

Greetings!

“For all have sinned and come short of his glory.” This is a scriptural verse that talks about one's sinful life. The biblical allusion above is to tell us that, we've at one point or the other sinned against our makers.

But one thing I know is that, even as sinners, there's still hope for us whenever we repent genuinely of all our sins and trespasses. It's only when we refused to repent and forsake our old sinful ways that we may not find the grace of God in forgiveness. No wonder the Holy bible says, “can we be in sin and expect grace to abound?” The answer is capital NO! As we cannot be in sin and expect grace to abound. It's not possible at all.

Even in the scripture, many people sinned against God, but not all were forgiven, it's only who repented their sins that were forgiven. But as for those who didn't repent of their sins, they were not forgiven. Examples of such people were king Nebuchadnezzar and the biblical king of Egypt, Pharaoh. Both were not forgiven and they eventually died in their sin.

But, someone like king David and the thief at the right hand of Jesus on the cross were both forgiven of their sins through grace and mercy. This is made possible through the genuine repentance of their sins.

So, what this is actually telling us is that God is always merciful to forgive us our sins and trespasses no matter how big or huge they are. So, according to the song by R Kelly ft Rihanna, which is titled God's mercy, one would see through the lyrics of the song that, both of them have sinned and come short of the glory of God like every other human being who have done bad things in the past, but instead of them to remain unremorseful in their sin, what they were asking for is God's mercy over Judgement that can wipe out their bad past and renew their present for a purified future and eternity.

Both of them believed in the power of God's mercy for forgiveness and they were both pleading for God's forgiveness and one thing I have read in the scripture is that God didn't want the death of a sinner, but all he wants is genuine repentance. Once there is genuine repentance, there's forgiveness of sins according to the scripture. God is always willing to forgive us our sins.

Thanks for reading.

It's never difficult to reconcile with our creator; all we always need to do is to ask him for forgiveness. Thank you @samolaj for sharing this
