Beyond taking pills; there's more to staying healthy

Greetings!

One thing that's very important and utmost in every individual's life is sound health and this is because of the popular saying that says that, “when there's life, there's hope.” But having a life can only come through a healthy living. If one stays healthy, then doing all other things would be easy.

Although, to maintain one's health can be expensive at times, it's something needed for a successful and fulfilled life as said by the popular saying that says, “ health is wealth.” To also make wealth in life, our bodily health system must be well taken care of.

Having said this, I would go straight to the discussion properly which is about the alternatives to medication in staying healthy.

In my own view, there are many ways apart from medications to stay healthy. Though, medication is good and it's a well known way of curing ailment to staying healthy, but taking medication is not the only guarantee of staying healthy as there're many other ways we humans can use to stay healthy.

All these other ways have been used by me and I can categorically tell us that these ways, though seem and look ordinary, work wonders in keeping me healthy and staying fit.

To start with, I would want us to know that taking proper rest is a natural way of staying healthy. There's no medication that can keep us fit and healthy other than taking our rest. I have tried this time without numbers and it's really worked for me.

I can remember a particular time last year when I almost collapsed while taking my students to school. Immediately I was going down, the student rushed me and prevented me from touching the ground. After this, I was given first aid treatment and was referred to a clinic very close to my school.

When I got to the clinic, I was asked to take a rest while i would be attended to later when the doctor comes, but before the doctor would even get to the clinic, i was already fine, hale and heart and because of this, the doctor discharged me without even administering any treatment on my, neither did he give me any medication.

Furthermore, another alternative of mine that's been helping me to stay healthy is by taking a balanced diet. Taking good foods that are rich in nutrients most especially my indigenous Amala and ewedu plus gbegiri soup is one of my best medications. Though I love eating foreign foods as well, my indigenous food has always helped me to stay fit and healthy.

Aside from this, taking water regularly to avoid hydration is one of those ways I have been making use of to stay healthy. What I do in regards to this is to do water therapy very early in the morning just to flush my body from overnight or previous day undigested food. At times, I boil my water to use for the therapy in the morning.

Also, in the course of the day, I stay dehydrated by taking the needed volume of water most especially during the dry season. All these are just my means of staying healthy.

In addition, the use of exercise as a medication is one of the ways I have been using for quite some time now to keep myself fit and healthy. Although, I do go to the gymnasium to exercise my body and my structure, but beyond that, dancing to musical beats and walking a distance is another way used by me to burn out fat and other excesses from my system and whenever I do this, I used to feel healthy and fit.

In conclusion, taking pills is good, but beyond pills taking, there's other means of staying healthy and as I have mentioned above, taking rest, eating well, taking water therapy and doing exercises are other ways through which we can stay healthy.

Proper rest is very important, I am living testimony of what happens when you fail to give the body enough rest.
