Three Tune Tuesday With Beach House

Back to the grind with @ablaze's #threetunetuesday. Today I wanted to share some good old dream pop from the group Beach House. Dream pop, I would say, is similar to shoegaze, but perhaps not as distorted as shoegaze. Maybe? I don't know...I always thought were the same, but I'm not rock critic. Needless to say, there is some difference that is critical to point out in album reviews...

I found this album after finding the group's Once Twice Melody. These tracks came out on an EP on National Record day. I haven't picked up the vinyl yet, but will soon...I like each one of these to zone out to on the commute. Let me know what you think...and here we go!

Easy going with a slow beat and twangy guitars riding along. I really like this one quite a bit. The chorus is melochanic and honestly reminds a lot of Beach House earlier in their career.

So where is the shoegaze? I'd say right around 2:30, although not quite as distorted as some others. This song might get stuck in your head - you've been warned!

Next up is a classic call back to 80's synths...maybe even some Stranger Things. Slow and steady, and melodic too. A simple Beach House song to keep you somewhat spaced out.

The final track on the album took me a bit of time to get into...but it might be my favorite on the EP at this point. Again, dream pop at its minimalist level...no real strong ebbs or flows, just slow and mellow back and forths. I don't know; it's probably too boring for most of you, but I'd say give a few listens and see if any of it sticks. You might even check out some of their other work!

Thanks for checking out my first #TTT post in a long, long, long time. More to come next week!

Wow never heard of these guys before! It is really dreamy and affected and patient for sure. Tasteful and deliberate.

I played the songs on our discord tunebot for the guys who range from headbangers to ravers to prog indy madness. Good stuff with those 3 tunes and a new discovery for me!

Haven't listened to Beach House in the longest time. Really enjoyed those now.

I did pick up their Once Twice Melody on vinyl...I actually really enjoy it and recommend it - it's almost like their White Album, I'd say...
