Mostly on my mind lately: Shamanism, Taoism, and Buddhism.

Also: Jiutian Xuannü, who is a Taoist goddess and term of China origin that literally means "Dark Lady of the Nine Heavens."

Mysterious Lady of the Ninth Heaven (Jiu Tian Xuan Nü,

Jiutian Xuannü, often translated as the "Dark Lady of the Nine Heavens," is a prominent figure in Taoist mythology and spirituality. She is revered as a goddess associated with the heavens, often embodying themes of mystery, femininity, and cosmic power. Her name reflects her celestial nature, with "Jiutian" meaning "Nine Heavens," which signifies a high and divine realm, while "Xuannü" translates to "Dark Lady," suggesting depth and complexity.

In Taoist beliefs, Jiutian Xuannü is often linked to creation, transformation, and the balance of natural forces. She is sometimes depicted as a protector and guide, helping individuals navigate spiritual journeys and achieve enlightenment. Her character embodies the duality of darkness and light, emphasizing the importance of harmony in the universe.

The Jade Maidens of Jiutian Xuannü, known as the Six Ding Jade Maidens, are her acolytes in Taoist mythology. They are skilled in the art of concealment and serve as protectors and assistants to Jiutian Xuannü, embodying her powers and helping to carry out her divine will. Each Maiden has a specific role, contributing to the mystical and protective aspects of their goddess.

Shamanism Meets Taoism: The Hidden Link in 3,000 Years of Magic and Mysticism

This was fascinating connection with Alchemy.

(6.5. — Fabrication de l'Eau Mystérieuse.)

- (Tao Te Ching, Chapter 42)

The Dao produced One; One produced Two; Two produced Three; Three produced All things. All things leave behind them the Obscurity (out of which they have come), and go forward to embrace the Brightness (into which they have emerged), while they are harmonized by the Breath of Vacancy.
What people dislike is to be orphans, to have little virtue, to be as carriages without naves; and yet these are the designations which kings and princes use for themselves. So it is that some things are increased by being diminished, and others are diminished by being increased.
What other men (thus) teach, I also teach. The violent and strong do not die their natural death. I will make this the basis of my teaching.
