Hive Music Festival Semana 144 round 3 “El Gallo Pinto” Esp-Eng

Buenos diaas, como estan todos. Espero que esten bien, les envio un calido saludo a todos en la comunidad de @musiczone. Estamos en el Hive Music Festival semana numero 144 round 3. Despues de un respiro he vuelto a hive siendo este un lugar donde puedo compartir historias musica viajes lugares ideas y arte.

En el dia de hoy les traigo un instrumental. El instrumental titulo El Gallo Pinto. Dicho instrumental que se encuentra en arreglo de Pancho Amat y han habido confusiones sonre el autor ya que este ha declarado en alguna que otra ocasion ser de su autoría, cuando El Gallo Pinto existe mucho antes de que el lo incluyera en uno de sus discos. Es de un autor desconocido pero se fue transmitiendo desde las raices del monte a la actualidad. No todo el mundo defiende el laud cubano tradicional y hoy vengo a darles una muestra de este.

Estudio laud desde los 10 años pero llevo compartiendo con el mucho mas tiempo del que el mismo pueda imaginarse. Llevo con el laud desde los 6 escuchandolo en las canturias y siendo acompañada en las tonadas por este.

Cuando era niña me encantaba sacar canciones al laud por oido, y recuerdo que se estaba celebrando el concurso eduardo Saborit donde habian modalidades de instrumentistas tonadistas y solistas. Alli un amigo de los talleres de repentismo, laudista tocó el gallo pinto donde lo pude grabar aunque ya lo habia escuchado nunca habia podido grabarlo. Yo tendría unos once o dice años y yo amaba esa melodia del gallo pinto por ser suave y dulce y me propuse sacarla, ya yo habia sacado otras obras al oido como mi primera obra que habia logrado tocar fuera del programa de estudio de la escuela “Habanera Tú”.

Si, quisiera conocer al verdadero autor de El Gallo Pinto para dar su nombre al mundo y enseñar su obra como suya pero entre el tiempo y el tiempo los nombres se pierden y en un campo donde los laudes eran de palmas y por las noches se reunian a compartir en un guateque no habian muchas grabadoras que fueran de ayuda.

🌞 Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all doing well. I'm sending a warm greeting to everyone in the @musiczone community. We're now in Round 3 of Week 144 of the Hive Music Festival. After taking a breather, I’ve returned to Hive—this place where I can share stories, music, travels, places, ideas, and art.

🎶 Today I'm bringing you an instrumental piece titled El Gallo Pinto. This arrangement is by Pancho Amat, although there has been some confusion about its authorship. He’s claimed in the past that it's his own, but El Gallo Pinto existed long before he included it in one of his albums. It's actually by an unknown composer, passed down from the rural roots to the present day. Not everyone defends traditional Cuban laúd, and today I’m here to give you a taste of it.

🎼 I’ve been studying the laúd since I was 10 years old, but my connection to it goes back even further. I’ve been sharing moments with the laúd since I was six, hearing it at song gatherings and being accompanied by it in tonadas.

As a child, I loved figuring out songs on the laúd by ear. I remember a time when the Eduardo Saborit contest was happening, which had categories for instrumentalists, tonadistas, and soloists. There, a friend from the improvisation workshops played El Gallo Pinto—I was able to record it, and although I’d heard it before, I’d never had the chance to capture it. I must have been about eleven or twelve at the time, and I loved the melody—it was so soft and sweet that I set out to learn it by ear. I had already learned other pieces like Habanera Tú, the first piece I managed to play outside of the school’s curriculum.

🌾 Yes, I’d love to know the real composer of El Gallo Pinto so their name could be known worldwide and their work recognized. But as time goes on, names are lost—especially in the countryside where laúds were made of palm wood and people would gather at night for a guateque. Sadly, there weren’t many recorders to preserve these moments.
