Homenaje al gran Germán Segura, Barítono Cumanés [ESP-ENG]

Germán segura was a lyric singer, native of the city of Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela. He began his studies at the music school Prudencio Esáa, in Caracas, continuing them at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, Italy, where he obtained the highest marks to obtain his Diploma in 1986, year in which he made his professional debut performing the character of Figaro in the opera The Barber of Seville, by Gioachino Rossini, in the Italian city of Genoa.

The first to speak was Evaridis, his sister, telling the Anecdotes of the year 86, telling how she took over the cultural management and founded the Luis Mariano Rivera Theater.

He was followed by Mr. Eduardo Jaime, who among his experiences, which were very funny, made me laugh when he joked that he had been diagnosed with cancer, telling him that he was a chancellor and he thought he was referring to some political position and no, it was his way of saying that it was cancer.
He joined Rotary. They gave the certificate to Social Poul Harry.

He did great educational work in the city, excellence, dress and elegance in going to the theater. He brought opera to the city at a time when none of the city knew opera. He died on his birthday.

Germán Seguro is called Maestro because he dedicated himself to teaching by creating and directing, in his native Cumaná, the Fundación Academia de Música, which bears his name.

His taste in music was inspired by the admiration of a cousin. He used to sing and crumbs would fall from the ceiling because of the tone of his voice, since Germán went for lyrical singing.

This famous cousin is Luis Bautista, known in the city as number 1.

Maestro Germán segura, sang with Luciano Pavarotti and received multiple international awards in countries such as Spain, Italy and Austria.

He created the Fundación Opera de Oriente, Teatro Cajigal with the Barber of Cevilla Euronava. In 1993, he created the Fundación Ópera de Oriente, producing the staging of different operas in the country. In 1996, he was awarded the prize of the Casa del Artista as National Lyric Singer, later becoming president of the Foundation that gives these awards.

He never lost his humility despite being among the greats and he left this plane as one of them. As a curious fact, he died on his birthday, March 23rd.
