Road Tripping Three Tunes Tuesday
It's Three Tune Tuesday here in Japan. I've been doing a lot of driving recently and I wanted to share some of the tunes I've been listening to.
First up is The Cult. I swear "Love" was an album from The Cult that was a rip in the fabric of our reality straight from Steven King's The Dark Tower. These dudes from the UK took the old American West & Native Americans and encapsulated it all into song. I have listened to this album since I was in 8th grade and it has often been my soundtrack while traversing the lonely desert roads of California, Nevada & Utah. It's hard to pick one song from the album, but if I had to it would be "Hollow Man"
Next up is another tune from one of the biggest bands of the 80's, Duran Duran. "The Morning After" was such a great song. The catchy synths were something Duran Duran integrated so well into their tunes. A side note, their loose suits style clothing is the rage for boy bands in East Asia right now.
Last up is the wild card, Talk Talk's "It's My Life".
Enjoy your drives!
Thanks to @boxcarblue for introducing me to #TTT and @ablaze for dreaming it up.
Good choices. I have seen the cult in concert a few times, back in the day.
Thanks. That must have been awesome. Ian is was good performer as well as vocalist.
I'm trying to pin down why the 80's was probably the best era for music. I think in part it had to do with an adventurous attitude. I mean the fashion, the hair, you had to have balls to look like some of those guys!
I was somewhat of a fan of the Love album, but when Electric came out, that sealed the deal. This was my fav from Electric 👇
Yep, great tune along with Fire Woman. Got that album for Christmas or my Bday when it came out. Good times!
Music is brilliant for driving, I mix it up between Podcasts and music, I never listen to the radio anymore, too much advertising and shite listening...
Ya man, that's me checking this album out for sure, based on that backstory and having listened to Hollow Man , I think I'll dig the album for sure. I think we listened to the album we had so much back then that some are forever engraved in our souls.
Ya agree the synths made them what they were, proper 80s band.
Thanks. I think the decline of the singer/songwriter is why music is so fleeting these days. It can't have the same impact without the feel & emotion that the songwriter brings when performing it. Enjoy!
Very good music, thanks for you show it
