In the 80's we were promised flying cars, space travel, hover boards, aliens, Robotech, far out fashion and tech utopia by 2023. Instead we have smart phones that addict us to vanity apps, shitshow flame wars on Twitter, global totalitarianism, the egde of WWIII(ok that one was always in the cards), and synthwave. At least the latter let's us dream and reminisce of that future past that is happening somewhere in a different simulation.
In this simulation I force myself the bridge the two to create my own cyberpunk world with synthwave, a cowboy hat and my half life in Nueromancer Tokyo.
I want to bring you along on the journey to that future past with some epic synthwave tunes & mixes. They aren't my own yet, but someday soon they will as I am producing and mixing. For now though, this has to be one of the best collections of synthwave tunes I've heard so far. It plays more like a radio playlist as it's very difficult to mix a genre with multiple BPMs. The flow is great though. The mix is by MrSuicideSheep and it's called Synthwave Cyberpunk Mixtape.
From this Sunday on, lets' enjoy our future past Sundays in synthwave!

Very mixed feelings about all of this. On the one hand I think it's just another tool to help us make things, on the other I;m worried we are going to be overwhelmed with Mili Vanilli esque shit. People have to clearly state it's Ai generated.

That's my concern. Have you ever tried boomy.com ? It's interesting because it uses AI but allows you to edit what it produces. I quite like it because it rarely comes up with something that can be used "as is", the tracks it creates are usually a mixture of good musical phrase and ones that are crap. I like to edit them, removing the bad ones or moving them to a place where they work, and duplicating phrases that work and moving them about. So it's quite interactive. Sort of AI with human collaboration. I've posted a link to some tacks tracks I created with it below. Maybe I should write a post about.
