The Motivating force behind Music
We often associate difficult times with rainy days and good times with sunny days. Most times, I feel I have more rainy days and less sunny days. It has been really overwhelming, especially now that I am in my final year of school.
Everyday presents itself with one issue or the other: so many bills to settle, so many annoying staffs that keep stressing me out, my final year project that I need to attend to, and so on.
I guess the final lap of the race is the toughest. I even recently started off a baking business. I had to get a loan from someone in order to commence with the business. But at the end, the outcome didn't really go as expected. Striving to be an independent lady can be quite daunting. Many ups and downs.
There are many hurdles that are encountered along the journey. In times like this, one of the most effective medicines that relieves me from all these is music. Just this morning, when I woke up from my bed, being faced with a new week, I was feeling totally unmotivated.
I picked up my phone and scrolled down to my YouTube application. While navigating through the music section, I came across this old but quite exhilarating song, "I Can See Clearly Now."
The song was sang by Johnny Nash. It felt amazing listening to this song for the first time in a long time. I've listened to this song many times before, but listening to it right now, the lyrics made more sense and meaning to me.
Amidst the rainy days, I am optimistic about much brighter days. Somehow I'm no more worried about the challenges anymore. I summoned courage to face all of that fair and square. I came to realize that obstacles are unavoidable when journeying through life.
The obstacles we face are not reasons good enough for us to give up along the way; the right approach is to actually keep going. After hearing this song, I put it on repeat and allowed it to play so many times that I lost count in the process. Looking at the bright sun up in the clouds made me optimistic.
The rainy day does have a way of clouding your vision. But after the rain comes sunshine. Most times, when rain pours down heavily, the sunshine that follows suit is usually the brightest. This is supposed to serve as an encouragement to us.
